We just here to watch the US vs Wales for the World Cup and we could not have had a better time (except for the 1 - 1 draw... result). The staff was not only very responsive, but considering how busy it was, they were also so relaxed and accommodating. They even brought us out an extra table and chairs! Food was amazing and it will not break your bank at all. So glad we wenthere to watch the match. Definitely coming back again and again. Great job everyone at the Mad Greek Deli!!! Read more

My partner and I are regulars here, the food is always great and the drinks are amazing. We go to a lot of bars and restaurants,... and we agree that Seth is one of the best bartenders in Portland. He?s really cool and personable, and really cares about thequality of his work. Not to mention his drinks always smack. Highly recommend, we?re here weekly. Read more

Literally everything on the menu is delicious. You can not go wrong here with any of the gyros sandwiches or burgers. Whatever... you do... don't forget the Greek fries and omega sauce. This place is worth the trip every time. Read more

Gyro was delish!! I got it with chicken & no onion, make sure you get the one with the fries in it! And the tzatziki is to die... for!! Sport bar and deli vibe inside, not quite my vibe so I took it to go. Read more

Would of gave them 5 stars if it wasn't for the grumpy lady sitting behind the counter. Maybe we caught her on a bad day or she... just wanted to go home. Went there for weekday lunch, ordered the Greek salad with gyro and a Foti's gyro. Salad was filling, delicious, lots of meat, olives, pepperoncini and flavor. My wife tries gyro sandwiches wherever she goes and she said this wasthe best she's ever had outside of Greece. We'll definitely go back, but not if grumpasaurus is there. Read more

Pretty disappointed for the price of the food. Taking into consideration the difficulty of COVID, inflation, I don't mind paying... fair prices for decent food. I think the pictures provide proof. 9.99 for a hummus and falafel plate. 6 dry falafel on a bed ofbrown rotting lettuce, accompanied by an incredibly small, 3.25 ounce cup of hummus. The pita plate comes with a decent amountof pita, but the same, insignificant amount of hummus, no veggies, or anything. Absolutely not worth 10 dollars. Aside from therotting lettuce, which was just a decoration... But why even do it.. the service was great. Read more

I visited Mad Greek Deli for the first time, during Portland Mercury Magazine's Burger Week 2021, and I had their Papadopolous... burger (pictured). I conquered 19 burgers, that week, and it was roughly tied, as the best. The Papadopoulos featured anall-beef, char-broiled patty, a house-made Omega Sauce, grilled onions, candied bacon, feta cheese, and crispy friedpepperoncinis, on a butter bun. It was exceptional! Easily worth the Burger Week price of $6. I still would actually urge themto make it a regular menu item (presumably in the roughly $10-$12 range), though I do remember that the charbroiling was causinga bit of smokiness. It was so good, though - Fried pepperoncinis are now a new favorite burger topping of mine. Seriously. Iwas sufficiently impressed during Burger Week, that I visited again, to try their normal menu; I had the Gyro Plate (pictured). It was a lot of food - roughly two full Gyros, I would say. For those who are unfamiliar, gyro meat is a seasoned mixture oflamb and beef, and the white dip / sauce is tzatziki, which is yogurt mixed with cucumbers, garlic, olive oil, herbs, andsometimes vinegar or lemon juice. Between the seasoned, lightly salty gyro meat, the refreshing, cool tzatziki and tomatoes, the spicy raw onion and cayenne pepper, and the rich feta cheese, there were a lot of great, classic gyro flavors working welltogether. Both visits, my food was displayed beautifully, the customer service that I received was good. The Gyro Plate wasreasonably priced, for the generous quantity of food. Mad Greek Deli has both indoor and outdoor seating available, and theinside is kind of half classic deli, and half sports bar.
