I've been here twice for happy hour and once just after the lunch rush. Every time it's taken solidly 10-20 minutes before a... server - a different one each time - even looked my direction. The food and drinks are great and the place is nice to be in, andthe bartenders seem much more attentive and friendly. I'm not sure why the serving staff seem to not notice or care I sit down.I always ask nicely if it's okay I seat myself outside, so they know I'm there - but it just happened again when I sat indoors. My best guess is that I've been alone every time so maybe they're just not excited about a smaller check, but it makes me feelreally hesitant to come again despite liking the place and the food. Update: 8/22/22. I decided to give Rams Head another try. I don?t know why. I ordered the Blue Bayou salad. It was $15.25. When... I arrived home and opened the salad it had About 1.5 C of wilted lettuce, a sprinkling of bacon bits, 5 halves of cherry tomato, and some really small pieces of blue cheese. $15?!?!? Please see the picture. I am floored, and I want my money back. I will, however, say that the staff member who brought out my to go order was very friendly. Prior review: I love mostMcMenamins?.except Ram?s Head and Blue Moon. I live 3 blocks away from both but trek down to the McMenamins Tavern and Pool (11blocks from me) because the staff members are much friendlier, they actually answer their phone, and I don?t feel like I?veimposed upon them by trying to be a customer. Both of these establishments do NOT like to answer their phones, and if you?relooking to order takeout, all I can say is ?Godspeed?. I would highly recommend any other McMenamins in town though! (Note: toensure I was being ?fair? I actually tried to call both Ram?s Head and Blue Moon tonight. I really wanted some Cajun tots in mylife. Blue Moon rang off the hook and Ram?s Head picked up, and then hung up without saying a word.) Read more

We stopped in on a Monday for lunch. Be prepared to have to pay for street parking. Although there were only two other people in... there, the service was a bit slow. We had to wait a couple of minutes at the door before even being greeted and seated. Theatmosphere is definitely unique and has a cool, comfy vibe. There are couches to sit on and even board games to play. I orderedthe chicken sandwich and it was loaded and tasted great! The honey mustard that I ordered on the side was super watery and didnot taste right. My 3 year old got the kids chicken strips and it only comes with 1 strip. I thought that was a little strangeseeing that any other place will come with several. Read more

Casual food in a good setting, like basically any McMenamins. Stopped by with my friend the other day and while it took a while... for us to finally be seated, we were given two comfy chairs. Our waiter was a bit strange and awkward, but provided good serviceand kept checking up on us. He was insistent on how good the tea was, of which I got the cranberry orange. I was impressed bythe flavor. The T-N-T basket is pretty consistent as in any McMenamins location, nicely battered chicken strips. I upgraded mytots to the truffle fries, which I liked as the truffle oil does not taste too strongly and the texture was crispy. Reasonableprices as well. Read more

It's always an amazing bartender that really makes a bar worth frequenting. Kaela, forgive me if I butcher the spelling, is that... kind of bartender. McMenamins is a very cool, niche little place. Great atmosphere, good food and good cocktails. However, thisbar-artist, bartist if you will, really made it a watering hole worth remembering. I tried every recommendation she had, toinclude an entire off-menu, secret society cocktail menu that was out of this world. Promote that girl. She has the kind ofpassion you only find once in a blue moon if you're lucky. Cheers! Read more
