I was not looking for this place i was let down by another restaurant that was closed for no reason and walked around and found... this place thinking its cold out we can have some hot tea and a healthy good meal. Now the first thing was the bathroom come onnow this should be somewhat clean I was shocked to think the staff use this bathroom, all the walls were so dirty and i did notwant to touch anything inside and paint the graffiti if it does not fit your style of restaurant. Now the food 1st off thisplace looks like a traditional thai place so we order tea it was a tea bag a big let down but the food was not good we were sohungry and ate to have something in our stomach. We ordered the whole fish which she said it was snapper which did not tastethat good but the worst was the soup no seasoning lacked any vegetables i had to ask for salt and pepper to get some kind oftaste. The lady was okay but this is how much of a let down this was i have never not taken food home and we left it all thereand there was still a lot left. Read more

Mee Gin is a standard for our family. We absolutely love it and are never diaspointed. Beyond the Thai staples, they have some... really interesting and delicious items that we haven't seen at other resturants such as the fried mushrooms or mushroom salad. I'm always shocked there aren't more people there as it truly is a gem. Highly recommended! The full bar is a nice touch aswell. Read more

I absolutely loved this place before today, came here many times with out of towners, myself and my partner. However, today... ruined it all. I was eating my tom kha soup and saw a baby ROACH crawl up the side of the bowl. We had just gotten our food andhad only taken a few bites but still. What really upset me was the woman who was helping us, she said it was a fly, that wasflying around and not coming from inside the food. It clearly had the three stripes on it. She offered to give us another soupbut we declined and she took it off our bill. My partner had to talk back and forth with her in order to not pay for the otheritems we ordered, as we barely ate them and found the bug in one item so who knows if its another, right? She wanted to chargeus full price for the food originally but my partner talked it down to paying 10 for all of the food. We had only drank waterand eaten less than 3 bites each of the items left after the soup. The whole incident felt really uncomfortable andunfortunate, I felt that she as the waitress/or owner should have immediately taken our food and offered to not charge us. I was craving Thai food during our trip to Portland (maybe because of cold weather and rain). So after doing some Yelp research... we ended up in this small spot. I like that the interior of the place is authentic yet quite modern and the owner/chef/waiter (Ibelieve it?s the same person) makes you feel welcome there. I had yellow curry with chicken and it was full of flavors and hada nice velvety texture. The spiciness was on point as well! Read more
