Reviews for Saburos | Sushi House Restaurant in Portland, OR

Let me start by saying this is one the the best sushi restaurants in the Portland metro if you consider only the food. The fish... is fresh, the pieces are big and the prices are very competitive. They have a great selection of rolls, nigiri and even somesake. The reason I'm giving this restaurant a 4 star review is because of the service and the location. They only open for 3.5hours every day. This place is busy and they don't take reservations. If you want a table you have to write your name on theboard and you can't leave your phone number, so you have to wait outside for your name to be called. There are very few tablesand they are all cramped up together. We had to share a table with a couple. Servers won't fill up you glass of water or ask youif you need anything else after you get your food. Entrees came before the appetizers. Read more

This is by far the worst sushi I have ever had. Sushi rolls the size of my fist, had to wrapped in saran wrap in my togo... container to prevent it from falling apart. I had to eat their rolls with a knife and a fork since a chopstick couldnt hold itup and it fell all apart on my plate. Bigger is definitely not better. Poor quality fish, salmon feels like it was thrown in andis chewy and poor quality. Im feeding this to my cats tonight. Strongly recommend against this place. I wish I could ask for arefund for this but I think this is how they do their sushi. Read more

Biggest rolls I have ever seen. I read some reviews saying they were huge but these were so much bigger than I expected. The... rolls were delicious and came out really fast after we ordered. We ordered four rolls for three people and we didn?t even eathalf of what we got. If your looking for leftovers and great pricing this is the perfect place. Highly recommend. Read more

Staff was super nice! We got there half hour before closing and they still had a few groups of people waiting for a table, and... yet they still let me put my name down for a party of three! Food tasted good and live up with their name for being supergenerous with their portions. Definitely come here with an empty stomach and you won?t be disappointed. Read more

BEST sushi in Portland! The rolls are huge and delicious. If you get takeout, make sure to order at 2pm, when the ordering... system opens, especially on weekends! We recently dined in and surprisingly the wait was only about 15 minutes. Make sure tocome at least an hour before closing if you want to dine in though, as they get very many takeout order and usually closeseating at least an hour before the store closes. I have never had a roll I didn't like there!! Read more

You BETTER come hungry because these are the biggest sushi rolls I have ever seen. I saw many a person going home with a box... full of sushi because they were like ?hey I can easily crush 3 rolls of sushi, it?s a Friday night.? Psych!! The rolls are sobig you can barely get a while one in your mouth. I think I?ll come back after fasting. Also make a reservation or you will bewaiting outside like the rest of us plebs. Read more

Fantastic, fresh sushi! The rolls are huge so if you don't want leftovers, reduce your normal order by about 30% seriously. If... you're dining in, get there early, there's not much space and a line tends to form. Read more
