I have been coming to Tokio Table for years now. I?ve brought my dad, my best friends, my boyfriend, and I frequently go solo. A... few things: 1. the owner has been there every single time I?ve been in. He is warm and welcoming and clearly cares about hisrestaurant. Very seldom do you see owners working the floor when in a restaurant. 2. Their sushi used to be on the menu daily, but during the pandemic they had to revise their menu and I believe it to be a weekend menu item only now. This may come acrossas an inconvenience to some, however it is a smart decision made my the owner. I?ll say it with my full chest: Tokio Table hasthe best sushi in Portland. The quality of fish is is unmatched. If the quality of their product goes down due to business orsupply chain shortages, rather than serving sub par items, the owner chooses to nix it all together rather than serving aproduct that isn?t up to their standard. Many restaurants are facing these same challenges and choose to serve lower qualityitems; Tokio Table does not. If you?re there when they?re serving sushi- GET IT. 3. The service is incredible. Again, I?ve beencoming for years. I?ve never had a server or chef who didn?t go above and beyond for me (picky eater). 4. Order their drinks. The house cocktails and wine selection are phenomenal. Japanese beer is also on the menu. Those 4 items are just a bonus inaddition to the great food and atmosphere. Portions are large, menu items are priced appropriately, and the overall vibe isunmatched. They cook steaks perfectly every time. I?ve even made friends while dining with others at the teppan tables! I?veever seen anyone leave looking unhappy. I love this place. You will too. You should try coming in if you?re on the fence. It?sworth it. Read more

This place is great. Perfectly cooked steak, high quality seafood, entertaining chefs, upscale (but not pretentious)... atmosphere... That's all I really want from a hibachi restaurant! The prices are very comparable to a decent western stylesteakhouse. Highly recommended! Read more

This place was outstanding. The customer service from our chef was excellent! The customer service from the waitress was decent... (she seemed new which is fine) but overall amazing experience. Steak was perfect and juicy. I would go back without a doubt.Obviously Portland has gone downhill but the food here was worth the risk! 2 of us paid $82 for everything but you will leavewith leftovers! Read more

We were very much looking forward to eating here. Highly disappointed. The service was terrible. Waitress was slow and rarely... xhexked in on us. The usual show when making the food was lacking. The chef spent more time chatting with a customer thananything. Steak was undercooked and almost forgot part of my husband's dinner until we reminded him. At least his food was done.Poor timing on delivery. Overall poor experience. Read more

The steak was excellent. I had the Chateau Brigande which was a perfect medium rare. Best steak I've had in a long time. The... performance of the food being cooked at the table was a novelty. The acoustics in the restaurant (with the music, open ceilingand food being cooked at the table) means that it's quite noisy and difficult to have a conversation. Worth a visit for steaklovers. I really wish I remembered our chefs name. He was awesome! Told some great jokes, and even laughed at our bad ones. One tip...... We had reservations and were seated promptly, but don't expect super fast service. Several other tables had just started thecooking so we had to wait for a chef to be available. I think they were a little short staffed (understandable in this day andage) so it took a while to get drinks. On that note, I am not much of a drinker myself, but my friends who ordered specialtycocktails loved theirs! The three young ladies that joined our table were very nice and fun to dine with. As far as the foodgoes, my chicken was great and the vegetables were wonderful. One of the people in our party has 2 sushi orders for dinner andshe was very happy with them. They were very accommodating with my wife's seafood allergy and were very careful to not crosscontaminate. A great experience, and great food! I look forward to our next visit. ( Only downside is there is a lot ofhardscape, it's loud in there and I have bad hearing, but this is not something that would keep me from going back) Read more

Excellent experience with my new Husband (we were visiting on our Honeymoon) and a friend I hadn't seen in years! I hadn't had... Teppanyaki for years and found this place on Google as we were figuring out where to meet up with my friend. It was my Husband'sfirst Teppanyaki experience! Forgot to snap pics of the food but I did catch the last half of the onion volcano. I was veryimpressed by the extended Sake menu! Chef was very talented and nice, and I was sure to tip him extra (for the sake of Pandemicand for the love of Teppanyaki ????). Definitely would come back! Read more

We had Gabe as our server/cook and he was great and the food was very good. The way he cooked it you did not need the dipping... sauce, that was just a bonus. This place is a must go for a Japanese steak house. Read more
