Sushi is good quality. Great presentation. Parking can be tricky. They were pretty busy- had to ask for our check multiple times... and waited quite a while. Other than that it was good. Read more

Awesome food, service, and decorations! The atmosphere is very nice here and lady who served us was super friendly and helpful.... The salmon + avocado roll, chicken teriyaki, and fried baby octupus were all very delicious. Might seem a bit on the higherpriced side but it is definitely worth it if you love Japanese food. Man this place was delicious! Best sushi I’ve had in Portland so far! The salmon sampler was amazing, (I order salon often... and this was top notch). So was the crispy octopus, really interesting and delicious. Our waitress was so nice, she didn’tmind stopping by our table for a few minutes to explain the various grades of sake. Great ambiance, great experience. Everyonein Portland was very nice in general. Thanks for the great experience! Read more

I was blown away by this place, the sushi was delectable. Soft sticky rice and fresh fish with a creamy bite. I got the Oregon... roll, salmon skin roll, and the kimchi ramen. Can I mention how tasty that ramen was? I adore kimchi and the crispy pork wasjust a bonus. Probably my new favorite sushi place in Portland. Read more

Came here as recommendation from a few locals (as I'm from San Diego, CA) and I WISH we had this quality of food near me. The... sushi was fresh...the rice was fluffy...the salmon was cooked perfectly and the employees as so kind and knowledgeable. This isdefinitely a go to every time I come to visit Portland. Another great sushi restaurant on my PDX sushi tour. My parents and I enjoyed the sushi from Yama. The fish was fresh and the... rolls were very flavorful. The presentation was on point too. I had a to go order so didn't Dine In. However I did notice maskswere required as well as proof of Vaccination when I arrived at the restaurant. The staff was very friendly but definitely tookthe mask and Vaccination mandates seriously. It was a Friday and there was ample street parking by the restaurant. Therestaurant wasn't full but they were booked. A few walkins had to make later reservations as I waited for my food. I wouldhighly recommend making reservations ahead of time. If you're in the neighborhood and are craving sushi Yama is the place togo. Read more

amazing grilled octopus that might change the mind of someone who does not usually enjoy it. The kobe roll was unlike any sushi... roll I've had before with cooked kobe beef draped on top. It tasted very good for a strange combination of beef with sushi. willbe coming back Read more

We tried this place and enjoyed the food and service. We started with the Uni (nigiri) and cream-cheese stuffed jalapeneo, and... ordered The Flaming Jack and Ahi Tuna Tower for main dish. The uni was pretty fresh and creamy. The Ahi Tower was absolutelyfresh and delicious. But the big suprise was the flaming jack! It has a smoky taste combined with the freahness of the fish andshrimp which tastes absolutely amazing. We ordered a cocolate and a matcha mochi for desert and it was served beautifully. Isteongly recommend this place to whoever loves the Japanese cuisine. Read more
