Went here later in the evening and still had a great experience. Nice having some local places open late. Food was cooked to... perfection with all special requests met. First time, portions are big, decent pancakes, really liked fried chicken with sweet sour sauce, "butter" tastes like cheap... vegetable oil spread... The smell in the restaurant was a bit off though, we had a really wobbly table and floor was sticky. Read more
Well....all I can say is O YUM! We dined in at IHOP yesterday for my Birthday, and it was INCREDIBLE! We had an amazing... experience! Our waitress was awesome, the coffee stayed hot plus we were served HOT food! Something that most restaurants lack.So, if you're seeking a great breakfast, lunch or dinner.... Delicious food, a very patient waiter who was willing to accommodate my picky 8 year old nephew with his odd requests.
IHOP is always my favourite restaurant. I like omelette and pancakes ???? they are so yummy!!
We needed some coffee and a good meal before making the trip back home. IHOP filled that need. I liked the thermos pot of... coffee on our table, pretty good jo. My wife had a tasty omelet, I had a senior plate with a couple pancakes, two eggs overmedium and a couple strips of bacon...for a reasonable price, our book buddy got the shrimp n grits with a side of slicedavocado...if shrimp n grits are on the menu, that's what she's getting. It wasn't that great, waited at the counter for a good 10 minutes no waiter or waitress to greet me, was handed the bill mid... meal wich was kinda off putting, breakfast was barley warm, and they charge you for coffee? What happend to it being free? I didalso order an OJ, it was good, but the coffee was pretty much cold not piping hot pretty bitter, and pancakes didn't even meltthe butter much not very hot, lady told me they were already ready sitting there for me...... not what I wanna hear, I wantfresh just like everyone else.... my stomach is feeling good after eating here, I came from corpus thinking the food would beideal better here, I was mistaken. So I usually dine-in with my sister or my son when we're in Portland, TX but yesterday we just wanted to eat at home so I... called in the order. I called it in and I ordered two of the 2x2x2 special advertised on tv for $5 and the lady taking myorder tells me its going to be ready in 10 minutes. Didn't mention anything else regarding extra fees associated with to-goorders. ) I get there expecting to pay $10+ and she says it's $17.30. I told her that it's advertised for $5 and she says"I'm sorry but it's $17.30." She goes, "Do you want to speak to the manager? I told her "sure." The manager comes and tells methe reason for the difference in price is because it's a to-go order and the $5 price only applies to dine-in because of thecontainers they put to-go orders. I ended up making split payments because I wasn't expecting the extra fees for the containers. They need to make customers aware of this extra charge on to go-orders. I just want to pay for my food and could care less forthe fancy containers they use. They should give customers the option of getting cheaper styrofoam (free) containers. I guessthey want to make up somehow for the fact that you're not dining-in and not leaving a tip. Just a heads up for anyone orderingto-go orders at "THIS" or any other restaurant or through 3rd party delivery service on these extra fees they charge. I'll stilleat here because I like it more than the Corpus Christi locations, just won't be ordering to-go anymore. Read more
