Yummy fish cowder and Hot Pastrami & cheese. Lot great tasty items to choose from the menu. Fries are okay taste like sweet... potatoe. Service is excellent and our witness suggested what was being ordered most (freshest) and was honest enough to tell uswhat not to order if asked. With that alone is worth 10 Stars!!! Recommend. Went on a sunday night Called 4 days head for a party of 9 and which was told was no problem I called a day before just to... confirm because a party of 9 can be a lot to deal with on the weekend again told no problem and they would be able to host us,up on arrival no one had any idea about are arrival. We chose to sit outside as we are a rowdy bunch and didn't want to disturbeveryone else and no one else was seated outside. Our waitress was very nice and professional and atmosphere was nice andrelaxed although our drinks and food did take a VERY (over a half hour for just drinks) long time even though there wasn't morethan 5 tables of 3 or less which already had food and maybe 4 patrons at the bar, the food was good but drinks were overlystrong and non traditional I'm not one to complain about a stronger drink but when you only taste the alcohol you're better offbuying shots. Overall not a bad place to go with small parties or a date but larger party's or groups should look elsewhere Read more

Stopped in while traveling. Community pub vibe, food was good. Mac daddy burger was overdone but tasted good. Hand cut fries... were well done, brown and crispy, which I like but maybe not for everyone. Great job on the wings, like the variety of dry rubsavailable. Read more
Loved the local community feel! We were traveling and arrived very late and most everything else was closed but thank goodness... because we found Clipper Tavern! The bartender, Jill was so friendly and the hot was so good! We ordered pretzel bites, friedpickles, chicken tenders, and the poutine. Thank you Clipper Tavern! Read more

A good find in Downtown Portsmouth NH. Clippers Tavern. Seems like a local place, people seemed to know people by name. ... Service was great even though they were understaffed. food was great. Mix and match sliders. Burger and Nashville Hot Chickenhot cut seasoned fries. !! Boom. Also fried chicken sandwiches x 2. homemade not frozen! I would recommend Clippers. Read more
Traveling through town and stopped in for a bite. What a pleasant surprise! Sports bar atmosphere which we love! Great... scratch made food. Had meatball sliders and chicken piccata...so good! But the best part was our super friendly bartender,Jill...she made our night! Warm, welcoming and friendly! Made us feel right at home! Thanks, Jill!
