First time in Portsmouth and we couldn?t have chosen a better place for breakfast. The staff at Colby?s is very friendly and... efficient. They run the small indoor and outdoor space well. The corned beef was right up my alley with a little crisp on it.The breakfast burrito was loaded with fluffy eggs and fresh to the core. We enjoyed the Halloween decor as well. After trying many times to get a table in a reasonable amount of time I got in this morning. The server was excellent and the... host was nice too. I ordered a massive ?The Down East Special? pictured here. I?m still full 9 hours later. The cinnamon swirlFrench toast was awesome. The scrambled eggs were slightly dense and lacked the light fluffy quality I prefer. The bacon wasjust okay, too thin and nothing special. The potatoes were okay as well, nothing to get excited about. Overall very good butnot excellent (other than the cinnamon swirl French toast) in my opinion. Always a treat to eat at Colby's! Partner and I ordered the specials off the board: sausage, mushrooms, scallions, caramelized... onions w/ provolone omelet and a "Mr Blue" consisting of 2 French toast with swiss, shaved ham, and blueberry maple syrup. Bothsuper filling and delicious! We went around 12:45pm on a Sunday and was seated almost immediately. Nice portion for the priceyou pay. The staff is also so friendly as always. I visited years ago when the cafe/restaurant was under a different name. I ???? thought it was great then, it's great now! I... read about the place in the online magazine "Only In Your State" and I added Colby's to my immediate bucket list. Great food???? and service! Place is very busy and service may seem slow, but, this place is popular. Talking to a twenty year resident,she said I was fortunate to get a seat right away! Another customer asked if he could sit at the table connected to mine to freeup space. I said sure and other customers thanked me. I had an ???? egg sandwich with veggie bacon ???? and cinnamon swirl ????french toast with real maple ???? syrup and coffee ?. Delicious ????! There can be a wait to get in since the place is small andhas limited outdoor seating. Don't be surprised to hear ???? 45 minutes. The bathroom is in good shape but could use a grab barfor us "high mileage" people. I recommend a visit, but, go early if you want breakfast ????????! Parking ????? is free till noonon Sundays. Great place for a Sunday breakfast. We had a little wait, but it was well worth it. The service was excellent. Great homemade... corned beef hash. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Benedict. It's tucked away outside of the middle of town, but not one you wantto miss. Read more
Everything we had was great!! We ordered lox and bagel, scrambled eggs with lox and apricot pancakes. Everything tasted fresh... and lox plate had plenty of delicious lox plus onion and tomatoes.
