Really delicious nepali food and great service made this the perfect spot to stop for lunch. We ordered nepali dumplings, daal... soup, and four different entrees which were all delicious. I highly recommend the Thyme Basil Lamb and Ginger Duck, both werefull of flavor and cooked to perfection. Spice levels are chosen from 1 through for each dish, so dishes are perfect for peoplewith all levels of spice tolerance. The waiter was super helpful, giving us recommendations and explanations. The deliciousmango lassi was a must have with the spicy food. Read more

Came here for dinner and ate outside, the atmosphere was fun and our service was good. The lamb and mushroom chilie was tasty,... with generous portions and the perfect spice blend. For 12$, the boar momos were a little disappointing but still overall a goodmeal. Read more

First time trying Nepali food and it was really good!! We ordered a couple appetizers. Don't be afraid of the heat, we chose a... 7/10 and it was spicy but not too spicy. Sit upstairs if you can with the music instead of outside, it adds more to theexperience. Read more

I just realized that although I rated this restaurant a while ago I never left a review. I absolutely love, love, love this... place. Himalayan cuisine is not as popular as other specifically ethnic restaurants here in the northeast. Thai, Chinese,Indian, Vietnamese and Japanese places are relatively common but this is the only Nepalese/Himalayan restaurant that I know offrom Maine to NYC. Begin your meal with the Gundruk, an ancient, homeopathic cure-all for anything real or imagined. It’sdelicious, robust, spicy on a scale of 1-10, (try 4,5 or 6 your first time and 8 or 9 if you dare) and 100% vegan to boot. Actually, the entire menu can be made to accommodate all dietary considerations. The momo are tiny dumplings similar to dim sumwhich are filled with your choice of meats, veggies or tofu. Delicious and shareable for 2, 3 or 4 people. Entrées includeChilies which are an assortment of fresh chilies, flavorful, not ungodly hot, sautéed with sesame oil, vinegar, wine and freshspices. Proteins include everything from tofu to wild boar. All Chilies are gluten free. Tarkari entrées are my faves. They’re curry based in a light tomato and fresh veggie sauté served with basmati rice. Delicate and delicious. The housespecialty entrées are grilled on a hot cast iron skillet and again, there are several vegan options. I’ve never tried thestir-fried noodles but I’m quite certain that if noodles are your thing, you won’t be sorry. Whichever meal you choose, becertain to get a side plate of Spicy Pickles. There’s a full cocktail bar at Durbar Square but my favorite drink is thenon-alcoholic and delicious lassi; mango, pineapple or strawberry. I like my spice at a few notches above medium and a lassi isthe perfect cooling complement. Bon appétit! Read more

we went here on saturday noon. the service was excellent, fastest ive ever encountered despite it being so busy. the staff were... very polite and friendly. we got a variety of things to try: wild boar momos, chicken momos, gundruk soup, herbed bread, basilchicken, lamb and mushroom curry and some chai. wild boar momos were perfect, bite-sized and tasted great. the gundruk soup didnot have any gundruk in it????all the curries tasted very traditional homemade. the lamb and mushroom curry could use some moresalt, or different spices even, it was not the best tasting food on the menu. the overall experience was great! Was passing through the area and wanted to eat Indian but we ended up eating nepali food. This place serves the authentic nepali... food. The food was amazing and taste so fresh with lots of aromatic flavors. The concept Tarkari was something new and added thetwist to menu. The noodles were great too especially with nepali touch. Overall great experience. Service was quick and friendly????? Read more
