I wanted to try this place for a long time. It's a very charming place. We got a few cheese burgers and cheesy fries. The folks... that work there are very nice. We thought the burgers were a little on the small side, but overall they tasted pretty good. But,the cheesy fires not so much! Cheap cheese sauce, layed in my stomach all day. I was disappointed that they don't sell shakes.I've never been to a burger joint with no shakes. Overall if you want something quick and not expensive, and your tired ofMcDonalds then it's a place to go. Read more

This place wasn't too bad. The burgers were good but the fries were soggy and were missing salt. Heard good things from the... locals but it didn't live up to the hype. We did have 2 issues with our order. We had 1 cheese burger that was missing bacon wewanted and they shorted us 1 of our cheese burgers. The bacon was added when we told them and then we had to wait for themissing cheese burger which leed to everybody almost finishing their meals before it came. If we go back I'm told we need to trythe hotdogs. Nachos!! Read more

A diamond in the rough. Excellent local burger diner. The steak grilled cheese is delicious and the fries are well salted and... crispy. Great for a quick lunch or takeout Read more

I remember this diner growing up as a kid. It sat next to JJ Newbury's. I wasn't into burgers or hot dogs as a kid. Yes, weird... kid! I would go past and watch the tires slowly deflate. A friend of mine wanted to eat there decades ago, the diner has been inbusiness since 1912, and ordered a hot dog. He was treated rudely and got sick ???? from the food. Whenever I went by lately, the dinner looks great and is very busy. Curiosity led me to visit. I found a parking ????? spot in front. I went in and theinside was neat and all the seating were stools. Friendly staff. I had a basic hamburger ???? with everything on it. Tasted good????. Prices are very reasonable. The two people behind the counter and I talked about the diner. The flat tires are still on!We also reminisced about Portsmouth. I found out the woman who works there is recovering from cancer, but, her insurance wascancelled. A go-fund me page has been set up. The woman cleaned the counter where people ate after they left. Outdoor diningavailable. Touchless payment option not working very well. I recommend this diner! Read more

Nice little historic diner in downtown Portsmouth. By little, I mean there?s 8 small stools inside. Don?t let the outside fool... you though.. it looks like it?s spacious, but it?s all kitchen. (No bathroom) We stopped in here on the way back from Maine, foran afternoon bite to eat. The menu is basic old school tiny diner faire... burgers hots dogs and fries. They did have poutinethough, which is what I ordered. It was my first time trying poutine. It was pretty good. We also ordered a burger and regularfries. The cook not only cooked the fries to order, but he CUT them to order, which was surprising and awesome! The fries werethe star of the show.. super good! Check this cool little spot out if your in Portsmouth! Read more

This small 8 stool diner is absolutely amazing! My husband and I ate late night (our first time ever) and was greeted by Arlene... with a smile who then took our order and then cooked it! We had double cheese burgers add bacon with ?everything? , Poutine (wassuper cheesy and delicious without being soggy) and the chili cheese fries (full of flavor!). Really enjoyed the history andoverall vibe of the place. Will definitely be back to check out with our kids :) Picnic Table?s are set outside when the weather gets nice adding more room for service. Take out available but can not call ahead and no delivery services which isunderstandable for place this size. Read more
