Went for first time today while visiting Portsmouth. Love to try sushi places all over and have had a lot of disappointments... lately, but this place gave me hope again. They must have a rice master on staff because the sushi rice was perfect, if you knowgood sushi you know the rice us very rarely perfect, perfectly seasoned,tecture was perfect, it melted in our mouths. What an incredible sushi experience! I had an incredibly difficult time picking from the seemingly-endless options available,... but in the end, I loved every bite of what I got. The staff was excellent, the iced green tea was crisp and delicious, my misosoup had a lovely complexity of flavor, and the sushi was absolutely exceptional - it wasn't just food, it was ART. Side note:of you want a show with your dinner, I recommend sitting at the sushi bar. Watching the chefs at work was utterly mesmerising, asymphony of coordinated movement and culinary skill. Edit: The change in management has been for the worse. The food can still be good, but the way it is run is atrocious. Be... prepared to wait 45 minutes or more for your food, while watching exhausted waitstaff try desperately to keep up with the poorlydesigned system. Used to run like clockwork and feel relaxed even at their busiest, now it is just an exercise infrustration. Hands down the best restaurant in the area. Their food is always excellent, the wait staff could not be friendlieror more attentive, and the price is right. My wife and I eat here at least a couple times a week, and it never gets old.
