Quiet bar and well made drinks. Walking distance to all of the great areas of Portsmouth.
I really enjoy one breakfast in particular - the eggs any style with crispy bacon, wheat toast and to-die-for roasted potatoes,... just cant leave them alone! OJ and coffee included, about $13, a good bargain. There's a new, real skinny menu for dinner withnot many options. I like the caesar salad with crab cakes ($29) but Ive had better. This is not a gastro pub. It?s a cafe within the Sheraton hotel. Not exactly what you think when you read about it. There is no... parking unless you want valet for $35 so expect that. The food is what you expect from a cafe at a hotel. It could be a littlemore closed off to give it a cozier feel. The hotel lobby is right in the same place so you don?t have that intimate feeling ofa restaurant at all and people just walk all over the place in there which gives it a feel like it?s a way station or passageway to something else. Service was very good. Our server checked in with perfect timing. The view is Portsmouth as it was and is. BUT, the food was... small servings with a BIG price. We expected this. What I did not expect was the food quality. My meal was a fish dish, thesize most places would consider an appetizer. We never settle with one visit. We will visit again in the summer. Read more
