I've eaten a lot of roast beef sandwiches, some from famous Manhattan delis at twice the price, but none that were as good as... Grumpy's concoction: a soft roll stuffed full of tender, moist, and delicious rare roast beef, au jus on the side, and accentedwith pepper jack cheese and roasted red pepper. Always a good meal and a good laugh with the owners. I'm a vegetarian and although they do vegetarian Wednesdays, they always... can whip up an awesome sandwich. Their blueberry pancakes are one of my favorites for breakfast. Read more
WOW !!!! I don't know why I waited so long . If I could I would give grumpys 10 stars . Had a southwest roast beef sandwich the... beef and stuff on the sandwich was over the top. The Au jus ( not sure if I spelled that rite) I could have drank a glass ofit. The owner and staff were friendly and efficient. I got to try a piece of the cornbeef and I can tell you this I am getting acornbeef sandwich next time it was delicious. WOW!! That's the first thought I had when I tasted the Pink Floyd sandwich (secret menu!) today! I walked in to the restaurant... today and it was very clear that I was a first timer, lol. I didn't catch the cook's name, but he was great to talk to. Heimmediately gave me a generous slice of corned beef and also a slice of the hand carved turkey and both were amazing. When Iwent to make the order, I wanted to recreate a sandwich that I used to have years ago at an old job. I started to describe whatI wanted and he was finishing my description exactly how I was going to say it! He and his daughter (pretty sure) both knewthat I was ordering the Pink Floyd. Half roast beef, half turkey, with long hots, pepper Jack cheese and red pepper relish. Itwas so good!!! Comes with Cole slaw also, which I forgot to have in the pic. Such a cool restaurant with a true neighborhoodfeel. I could tell that they knew most of the customers and heard people ordering "the usual". Service was awesome too! Willdefinitely be going back.
