This was the first time eating at this restaurant. We heard great things and figured we'd give it a try. Service was slow at... first but the owner was very apologetic about the mishap. Things only got better from here. The plate of different breads andthe dipping oil was amazing! The food was superb and used fresh ingredients like spinach, mushrooms, and seafood. The portionswere huge and both my husband and I left with seconds for the next day. We'll definitely be back! My only disappointments werethe sauce for the fried calamari (although my husband liked it) and the pre-grated cheese to top the pasta with. This is justbeing nit picky though. One of the best meals we have had in a long time. The entire meal is something that I will look forward to having again.... Starting with bread / knots & a house salad to start. The house balsamic is one of the best I’ve tasted. Veal Mare was aspecial for the evening. Tender veal served in a white wine sauce topped with fresh shrimp, crab, & cherry tomatoes. Asparagus,slices of potatoes & roasted red pepper pieces on the side. Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. A very generous portion of pastawith house made sauce. The pasta was prepared in great al dente fashion. Dessert for the evening was a glass of house madechocolate mousse. This version was a s’mores style. It had light gram cracker and topped with marshmallow. What made thisevening more special was the staff. The hostess was inviting, welcoming & understanding after a bad experience for us at adifferent restaurant prior to arriving. We didn’t have a reservation but she was still able to seat us quickly. Steve tookgreat care of us at the table. He explained to us that they are a BYOB restaurant and the next time we visit we are more thanwelcome to bring something if we would like. He took the time to explain things since it was our first visit. It was greatseeing staff members work as a team throughout the evening. Both inside and outside seating are available. I cannot say enough about my dining experience at Piccolo Mondo. The food is exceptional, fresh and abundant. I was born in... Italy and travel there often and have to say the food is very authentic and delicious. The service is excellent and friendly andfrom the moment you walk in and hear live Italian music playing, you are instantly transformed. I cannot wait to go back ! Their specials were so enticing we didn’t even order off of the menu. The branzino was perfectly... cooked and the sauce was absolutely delicious. Nice family owned and run Italian restaurant, priced well, watching the line cooks in the open kitchen was fascinating. ... Outdoor seating available, close to rt724 so can be a little noisy.
