Escovitch Fish - 5/5 Expected to see the traditional escovitch fish with head and all, but received 2 fillets of batter-fried... fish. Honestly, didn't expect much until I tasted it. Absolutely delicious! Curry goat - 3/5 Looked delicious but tastedalright. There was no 'kick' or hint of 'heat' to the curry goat at all. Was a little disappointed. Took it as left overs sohoping it ages well. Plantains - 5/5 Fried to perfection, absolutely delicious! Mac and cheese - 4/5 Very buttery ~ ~ ~ May notbe the best option for vegetarians or vegans. What a wonderful place! Very cool building. I had the pleasure of watching the chef prepare our appetizer and I knew it was... going to be good just by watching him. So much care goes into this food. I had the jerk chicken and my husband had the curriedgoat. The portions were generous and everything I put in my mouth made me so happy. The chicken fell right off the bone. Ihighly recommend! I’ll rate 10/5 stars if I could. Came here last night with a group of 10 from the L’oe Car Show with no reservation. The... owner was so kind to us and catered to us immediately. He served and cooked all on his own and with ample timing!!! We were allso impressed. Oh and the food? IMMACULATE! Best Caribbean food I ever had. You can tell the owner treats his work with so muchlove. You won’t regret coming here :)!! Will definitely come back when I’m in the area again. Read more
A few days ago I ate at Welcome To The Avenue. Caribbean food is my favorite food to eat. I had the oxtails, rice, gravy, and... vegetables along with their Tropical drink. It….was…..DELICIOUS! The oxtails were fall off the bone, tender, with a ton offlavor. The vegetables (I’m not a big vegetables guy) were exceptionally good. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese but themain plate was so much that I got full. I took the mac and cheese home and it disappeared (somebody got to it….wife, or one ofthe three kids, I can’t tell). Oh and the restaurant itself was beautiful! I don’t know the history of Pottstown all thatwell yet but the building itself felt sophisticated and historic. Oh and the customer service, a dying art nowadays, wasperfect. My wife and I ordered the Jerk Chicken Wrap with mac & cheese as our side. The amount of food that we received was definitely a... great value when you consider the cost. The food was fresh and favorable. The mac & cheese was VERY loaded with cheese.Absolutely delicious. However, the chicken was missing the jerk chicken flavor that I was expecting. They did include a spicydipping sauce. Overall, the meal was good enough to make us look forward to trying more items on the menu. Read more
I called at 9:20 to see if they were still taking orders and I was told yes and that it would be about 20 mins so I ordered a... fish platter with Mac n cheese and rice, as you can see in the picture the fish was over fried or sitting for a long time it wasinedible the Mac was hard and I ended up with cabbage. I also ended up waiting over 35 mins for the food and I couldn’t eveneat it how disappointing. I don’t mind waiting if the quality is on point but it wasn’t. I called and left a message but Idoubt they’ll see it because they don’t open again until Wednesday. I hate to be that person but I was hype to enjoy thefood and ended up not eating anything. Absolutely amazing flavorful dishes across the entire family between the chicken sandwich chicken curry and escovitch fish! We... had a late lunch (around 2 pm) and the staff was super friendly and helpful during our first experience eating here. The decorwas very cozy and you're immediately met by an amazing aroma when you enter. The portion sizes were huge for lunch and priceswere equally impressive! The sides of fried plantains were just as delicious too. We'll definitely look to return in thefuture! Read more
