At 60 years old, I have eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants over a very long time. Back in the 1960s and 70s there were the... many family run Italian restaurants, each with their special family recipes. Today very few of those exist. Milanese is thereal deal and their ragu takes me back to the very best of what Italian food can and should be. I ordered the veal parmigiana.Every bite was extraordinary! The Milanese has been a staple Italian restaurant in Poughkeepsie for several years. The food is still as delicious and fresh as... it has always been. The interior has been updated and much nicer than it was a few years back. We had the Chicken Francaise andChicken Parmigiana. Both were excellent with enough leftover for another dinner. A side salad and pasta was included with bothmeals. Both were excellent. Garlic bread comes before the meal. A complaint I have with many restaurants is that they rush allthe food out at once. Not so at the Milanese, everything was timed perfectly: bread and drinks followed by the salad followedby the main meal. Nice restaurant. Highly recommended. Read more

Excellent calamari frit which was very light and accompanying marinara sauce was good as well. Pasta dishes were very good and... portions were generous. Clam pasta with We couldn?t finish. The restaurant has good old neighborhood family run Italianatmosphere. Read more
