Heard some amazing things about this shop, was excited to stop in and try it. The food and drinks were good but the service... was unlike anything I have ever experienced. The lady serving us seemed as if we were inconveniencing her by our mere presence.I inquired about ice cream floats and instead of a simple no, I was made to feel like a toddler who was in trouble. Mygirlfriend picked up a punch card to admire the design and branding and it was quickly ripped from her hand. Verypuzzling. Coffee was great though. Read more
Pleasant experience I had the Freda breakfast wrap. It was pretty tasty but lacking sauces and cheese.. coffee was delicious..... lots of healthy choices. They seemed under staffed but guests were very patient. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors on picnictables. Main Street was loud and busy with cars at times so that was a bit annoying. It was a long wait to get to the front of a short line, and then to wait for our food/drink. Not a big deal when the food is... good and staff are friendly, but it?s a shame to wait so long just to have a cashier be super passive aggressive. The breakfastwrap was ok flavour-wise and portion-wise; but it was a little cold (despite the wait), the scrambled egg had a grainy/wettexture, and the house made barbecue sauce was watery. Overall, the food was average for a reheated coffeeshop wrap, and thedrink was okay? but it was the rudeness of the older guy with glasses working the front end that made the whole experiencepretty sour. ~ 11 am, Saturday the 20th. Great beverages, relaxed atmosphere, cool swag. Staff are mostly okay, but one in particular,... making the beverages, was intentionally argumentative, not communicative with the order taker, and deliberately continuedgrating cinnamon on my iced chai latte long after I thanked her. Very weird. Her negativity tainted an otherwise goodexperience. Read more
Went there today. I had the best London fog I've ever had. You have an amazing barista!!! I had the back country panini with... lettuce and tomatoe added. Amazing! I'll definitely come back my next visit to town. Great experience all around Read more
The atmosphere and the cashier was very sweet. A customer left their wallet and cellphone. I asked the barista if she happened... to see the man that was sitting on the bench that she just served. She responded I don?t know what man you?re talking about. Notsure where the abruptness or impatience she felt rightly to express.. but luckily we found the owner outside. I said thank-youfor my coffee, but she turned around in silence. I?m not sure how I offended her, maybe I stopped her flow. Overall strangeexchange, but please be more open to helping others! We enjoyed delicious paninis - the one with mushroom was was so tasty - sides of soups and took home a pack of thirty ginger... cookies. Portions were filling . Great spot for a brunch, lunch or treats if ever in Powell River. Read more
Went by the Marine location a few days ago. I never ever write reviews but felt compelled to do so. I had a muffin better than... any I have had at any coffee shop!!! Homemade fresh and delicious. I am telling everyone I know to stop by and try their amazingbaked goods!!!It was a berry peach muffin. Can't wait to try what they have next time!! Thanks Base Camp!
