I had posted a glowing review of this restaurant a couple of years ago, but it has somewhat declined since. We just went there... for dinner a couple of days ago, and I was disappointed to see most of the gluten friendly dishes were gone from the menu,including the oven baked wings and ribs. Our server said they had gluten free buns which I appreciated. I had the bacon cheeseburger which was REALLY good! The side was a garden salad with their house Saskatoon berry dressing. Also very good, but it cameout warm, as did my husband's. We had also ordered potato skins, but they never came. Unfortunately for us there was a golftournament at the Cooke that day, and people started coming in about the time our food came, and we barely got any service afterthat. The server came to ask how our food was, and when my husband asked for a refill on his pop, she grabbed his glass andquickly left before I could ask for one. Then she dropped it off very quickly at our table on her way past without hearing mesay "Excuse me," so I could ask for another one. Nobody came to our table for a long time after that. I can understand they gotslammed and that's why they were so busy. But we felt quite forgotten because they had basically stopped acknowledging us toattend to the tables on either side of us. When we were finished eating, someone else took our plates away and we waited a goodten minutes before our server came back to ask if we wanted anything else. It was so loud by then, my ears were crackling and Iwas starting to get a headache. The place was packed with happy golfers, and the room has a lot of hard surfaces that amplifiedthe noise. If I had one complaint it would be that the restaurant uses ?sprinkled feta? on the Greek Salad. When I order a Greek salad,... most of my enjoyment comes from sliding chunks of feta cheese, approximately the size of a small beach pebble, down my throatwithout acknowledging the rest of the salad until every chunk has been consumed. I also request that they send a small amount ofthe feta juices along side the salad to add a splash to my bath water, so that I too, may taste of rich and flavourful, fetacheese. When a salad comes with ?sprinkled feta,? I get 109% of the health benefits and 0% of the enjoyment that comes fromordering a Greek salad. Wouldn?t recommend this dish. Standard pub grub and some different menus to try the next time. The fish & chip lunch special was a great deal and fast enough... for a working lunch. Overlooks the first hole of the golf corse and the curling rink so the view's nice too! Read more
I ordered the Goat salad for pick up, and was disappointed to find quite a bit of slimy mixed greens in the salad, as well as... the chicken being barely seasoned but nothing near blackened as described on the menu. Overall it wasn't a hit for the price! Read more
Whenever we have ordered food from here before it was always worth it and delicious....however things have gone down hill with... new management. It's not the same anymore and it's really sad because it was a jewel in the rough. Too bad we cannot upload ourpicture because for what we recieved for $14 BLT; was pretty anemic! Read more
