This pub has potential that is true. My experience here was don?t expect to talk to anyone, in fact you?re better off coming... alone. The music (not live) was so loud I could not even hear my girlfriend who was sat next to me. Once the live music startedit was somehow even worse. Perhaps I?m just old, perhaps the acoustics suck, perhaps the music manager is clinging on to theidea this is a club not a pub. I will say the food and service were satisfactory but not great. We were in Prince George for couple of nights. We ended up at the Black Clover the 1st night. The ambiance is great, service is... friendly and food good for a pub. The wings were very nice. On Thursday and Friday they have a « singer » we really tookadvantage of it and danced all night. The Black Clover was a lot of fun. Read more
Been in twice in the last couple of months. Both times coincidentally on a Tuesday, beef dip special. Something has changed in... the kitchen for sure. First time was a novelty beef dip cooked like a calzone, tender and hot hot hot. The second visit I didn'tburn myself but ate the salad first then tried to eat the 'sandwich'. It appeared no attempt had been made to trim the meat soteeth alone could not cut the strands so the meat pulled out of the pastry. Flavor was fine just more attention in preparationis needed.Finger food turned into a knife and fork experience. Staff were awesome both times, like I said just shortcuts in thekitchen. Lots of competition in the surrounding blocks so not sure if it just the difference between high and low season or justanother sign that businesses are cutting back even more to weather this downturn. We rented the Caribou Room above the Black Clover for a wedding reception. The whole experience was excellent. The Banquet... Manager, Chelsea was approachable, responsive, accommodating and a delight to work with. Food was outstanding, on time andmore than enough. Bartenders were speedy and kept up to the crowd. The food here is fantastic! Someone knows what they are doing! Atmosphere is very old school, but that?s kinda what you expect... right? Parking is ok as it?s downtown. Staff friendly and prompt. Read more
$$$ Guiness on tap. Portions are big, the paddies nachos were pretty good. Nice pub atmosphere, now hosting live music.
The wings were over cooked and so small.. they were tasteless and beyond dry.. they wouldn't credit our bill either.. the pattie... Nachos where burnt and poorly made and the sour cream dip was very bland and tasteless as well not worth the money they charge!!won't eat here again Read more
Excellent wings. Best Guinness in P.G. Good service. They don't over serve people like the casino. Much better music this time.... Singing dancing clapping good times. Didn't think It was possible, but 6 Guinness in one afternoon and evening Is possible. Whyisn't 10 star available? New record . Read more
