We had dinner for 3 at 7pm on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was very full, and our table near the kitchen was quite loud. ... Service was attentive until about 8:30 and at that point the staff started to want to go home as the restaurant began to clearout. We ordered an iceberg wedge, clam chowder, and several types of oysters for starters, the oysters were pricey at $3.75each but we're the best tasting choice. The salad and the chowder were just average. For mains we had scallops, swordfish andking salmon, all prepared grilled. All were good but not standout exceptional. Because the fish only comes with a starch andvegetables are shared family style add-ons, mains come out looking brown / beige and unappetizing - there is no color on theplate. Great food, decent service. They gave the last swordfish, which I had my sights on for a few months here, away to a takeout... customer. I would have been fine with it if they had told me right away instead of after ten minutes. Also the patio leaks whenit rains, which is of no fault to the restaurant, however you just need to ask them 2-3 times to close the windows amidst amonsoon. I’d go back if I was craving a fish dish however for the price point there is too many variables for me to enjoy themeal. Read more
My wife and I both ordered the local monkfish medallions at our server Bethany’s recommendation, and our meals were... outrageously delicious! As were the mashed potatoes! An excellent dining experience sitting outside upstairs on a beautifulFriday night. It’s also BYOB, and they don’t charge a corking fee. Excellent!! Read more
Great seafood restaurant. Outdoor seating and rooftop are fancy and chic. We went there with friends couple of times. So far we... tried crab cakes and sea bass. They are phenomenal. Bali Barramundi is exotic. Shrimp Etoufee, a dish found in both Cajun andCreole cuisine, is a feast. Oysters are fresh. If you are overwhelmed with the menu, try them all. You won’t disappoint. Good portion sizes You get free bread and butter when seated, it's what you would expect from bread and butter. I got the... swordfish with sweet potato fries. Swordfish was done nicely, but could use some more seasoning and I don't think they listenedto me when I said to cook it mid rare (hard to see with the lighting but it tasted fully cooked). Sweet potato fries and saucewere disappointing. They weren't fully cooked through (weird texture after biting into them) and very floppy, probablymicrowaved and/or not fresh. Sauce was just straight salt, no other flavour. My parents got blackened cod and that was seasonedbetter than my swordfish. Rice they got was also better, but salad was sub-par. Our entrees were amazing! Highly recommend the Arctic Char. However, we ordered the clams casino appetizer and it was not quite... what would be expected by most people, there are no bread crumbs or crunch at all, and it was mostly a peppers and onionstopping. They were just okay. We ordered the chocolate chip bread pudding for dessert, and it was very obviously microwaved.For $9.00 for a small slice of it, it was disappointing that it was cold and then only hot in some areas. We were celebratingour 5-year anniversary, and I put that in the notes of the reservation. Nothing was done to acknowledge it, which is fine, butit truly would have been nice.
