All in all a nice restaurant with beautiful views and excellent wait staff but the food could use some improvement. Had a very... nice atmosphere and in an excellent setting especially sitting outdoors with beautiful views. The food was good but not greatespecially for the price point. The New England clam chowder was a bit bland but still good, the calamari unfortunately wasprimarily peppers so it was difficult to actually find the calamari and we ended up with many peppers left. The mac and cheesewas not as flavorful as expected nor was the whole fish which also lacked flavor. The lobster was nicely done though. Read more

The restaurant was upscale yet casual. We went there for lunch. The server was very tentative and was quick with the service.... The oysters were fresh. The clams were great. The tuna tartar was a bit unique but still good. The lobster roll is probably oneof the best I’ve ever had. The buttered roll was perfectly toasted and crisp at the bottom. The fries were perfectly done (andI don’t praise fries easily), crispy on the outside yet soft and steamy on the inside. The reason they lost a star is from theshrimp cocktail. It’s clearly been dead for at least two days and has just been in the fridge for a bit. Read more

I had the opportunity of sharing an exquisite portrayal of food with my date last night at Hemenway's Restaurant. Our server was... Matt and he was nothing less than exceptional. I certainly recommend him if you want to have an experience to match the food. Heeven brought out the bread crumber. ???? Anyways let’s talk about the food. The oysters were phenomenal. Now this is comingfrom a guy who’s not big on sea food. So for me to say that. You know it means something. I ordered the surf and turf. As wellas the calamari and the lobster mac and cheese…Now obviously I didn’t finish all this food but I certainly made an effortto. The steak was cooked to my liking and lobster mac and cheese was probably some of the best I’ve ever had. They cooked iton top of the lobster which I think was an interesting touch. The only thing I wasn’t thoroughly impressed with was thecalamari. But it wasn’t bad just not something that wowed me. This being my first experience at Hemenway’s I’m veryexcited to say this was extraordinary and I will definitely be going back. One of my new favorite restaurants. Read more

High quality dining located near Brown University campus. We picked three course menu. Caesar salad, NY strip, King Mushroom,... and Whole Baked Bass. Bass has a lot of bones but delicious. The pairing wine was PG Margherita. Desserts were chocolatebrownie and lemon cheesecake. Sara Beth was very attentive and pleasant. Read more

This is a really nice seafood restaurant in Plymouth next to Brown University. We stopped in for lunch. The interior is nicely... decorated in a nautical theme with lots of wood finishes that remind me of the interior of an old sailing ship. The service herewas amazing. Our server Danny was very attentive to our needs and provided a wealth of information about the extensive menu. Hehad a real down to earth approach to the job with just the right amount of humor injected into the conversation. He made us feelright at home. We had the Lobster Fishman Style and Scallops Oscar style. We finished off the meal with Baked Alaska. Thepresentation was not as dramatic as what you get at night but it was excellent Read more

Pretty good overall. I thought the service was terrific overall; the food was pretty good, but not great given the price point.... The oysters were incredibly fresh, they were amazing. The New England and Rhode Island clam chowder were both good, but on thebland side. I tried the steamed lobster and the lobster prepared fisherman's style, the lobster was definitely fresh, not chewyat all, but was also a little bland. This place was packed and maybe the place to go in downtown Providence. I recommend thatyou check it out. Read more
