Terrible experience!!! I rarely give 1 star to a place but my experience at Jacky's was not good. 1 star was for the Great... location and ambience, clean restrooms !! Food- The menu is extensive. I had ordered California rolls for starters and wasexcited to have them. But they came broken, possible due to overfill. The rolls were breaking when I tried to dip them in thesauce, which was kinda annoying. I have posted a picture of the rolls. I had ordered a drink but the server forgot to get ittill the end ( the restaurant wasn't crowded) !!! The Singapore noodles were good. I felt the kind of service wasn't greateither. We were made to wait a long. We didn't reserve and had just walked in the place. I asked if we were supposed to reserveto which the server said its not necessary but good to have. Went for lunch made reservations. The food is a fusion of cantonese and Japanese american style. Interesting mix. Service was... little slow but good. The views are good if you near the window so ask for a table and they have an outside terrace that wasclosed maybe due to the time of the day. The sushi we ordered a la carte. Rice was good enough but would of needed just a touchof warmth for us demanding sushi lovers. Fish was sliced well, fresh and always look for the list of available fish. Had thelobster vermicelli which is their interpretation of the lobster sauce from take outs, was good with white rice and did not tastetoo much MSG. Had the steamed scallops on the half shell with vermicelli and soy sauce was little over cooked but is simple dishbut difficult to time it perfectly but was good enough. They have lunch specials weekdays except Friday and weekends. Will comeback if i come back to town but will try dinner..!!! FYI restaurant is on the pricier side but normal for sushi and seafood…!! The whole family really liked our dining experience. Every dish and drink we got was a hit. Super Mai Tais. Some of the best... green beans I've ever had. Try the sushi pizza too! Read more
FANTASTIC experience here at Jacky’s Waterplace and Sushi Bar. The interior is gorgeous, the views are amazing, staff is super... nice, food is delicious, and cocktails are phenomenal. We had a wonderful time here trying a few sushi rolls and a cocktail fordinner. The waitress had great feedback on the items we were ordering and she was completely on point. The northeastern tigerand Narudo rolls were absolutely delicious. The lychee martinis are phenomenal and I one hundred percent recommend thiscocktail. Now for my standard COVID comments as of April 2022. Masks are being work throughout the restaurant and seating isreally nicely spread out. I felt completely comfortable sitting indoors for dinner. This is a fancy-like sushi place, and I had a really great date here with BAE. Essentially, the general/vague idea of this place... is that the vibe is EXCELLENT and it has a beautiful view of the canal as well as a magnificent fish tank. The food is pricey(but not even THAT pricey compared to other good sushi places) and well worth it in my opinion. The sushi was fantastic and theSingapore noodles left me ready to sleep for hours and hours. I left this place feeling AMAZ, ready to have an infinitely longnap in my king-size bed at the hotel nearby! Read more
Pizza/Sushi Review Special Valentines Weekend Edition Honestly as much as I absolutely love pizza and even though I could have... had some again for a third day in a row. I decided to go grab some sushi last night. First off…. I forgot it was Valentinesday weekend, which is my own fault for being single… but Jacky’s in Providence was very accommodating and got me seatedright away in their lounge area. So the original intention was to have just sushi, and well enjoy it. But then I saw SUSHI PIZZAon the menu and was like yeah I gotta try this and review it…. So let’s dig in! Firstly the crust made of some sort ofeggroll like material was phenomenal and absolutely delicious. I for one am a fan of eggrolls so it was A1. Absolutely noflop. The presentation was immaculate and the toppings were undeniably fresh as I made sure to take a nice wiff of it before Itook a bite. The jalapeño was a nice touch and definitely made the flavor pop! I chose the tuna but they also had salmon asan option. Overall on a pizza scale I give this a 8.9 out of 10 which is right up there with the traditional pizzas. Lookslike these other places are gonna have to step it up or these fusion pizzas might take the W! Read more
We had a blast last night for our Christmas dinner for work. Everyone was so nice. The sushi was amazingly fresh and my... chocolate mousse was rich and dangerous, just like I love my men! Our server Becky was great fun and it felt like she loved herjob and was on point with everything. My husband and friend were also just as satisfied with the atmosphere, the energy, and thefood. This location is in a popular area along the waterfront. Valet parking is complimentary when dining in the restaurant. This is a... beautiful area to stop in for some cocktails and a bite to eat. I ordered the white sangria with fresh fruit and the HawaiiRoll. The sushi quality was definitely to my liking and fresh! I loved my experience. Shelly our server was great. Drinks andfood came out quick. The patio was perfect for overlooking the waterfront views while having a refreshing glass of sangria.Would definitely come back. Take a walk along the waterfront when you're done. Read more
