Reviews for Jahunger in Providence, RI

I don?t see the justification for the high reviews. My experience was thoroughly disappointing. Overall, service was poor and... the food was mediocre. My issues are mostly with the service. I had three larger groups be seated before me despite my wife andI only being a party of two. Furthermore, we were told 15 minutes initially only for it to end up being 45 minutes just to beseated. From there we never saw the waitress as she had too many things to try and juggle. One dish was cold despite it being ahot dish. How can we get one plate hot and the other cold? Now for the food, everyone has their preferences but this food wasbland. Spicy dishes had no depth and tasted of chili oil. The one dish I though had potential, the Jahunger noodles, wassomewhat decent. It?s too bad it was cold and had a piece of nearly raw beef mixed in. I could excuse the service if the foodwas amazing, but sadly it was painfully mediocre and often bland. Read more

We came at 6 on a Sunday on Labor Day weekend. They were very full but the wait wasn't too long and the staff was kind. Food was... DELICIOUS, very filling and flavorful, worth the price. Cute decorations and a good mix of music in the background. They alsohad a list of recommended wines to go with their entrees which was pretty cool. Read more

Alright, you all need to get to Jahunger Restaurant immediately. Like, right now. I don't care if you've eaten. I don't care if... you live on the other side of the country. Go here. It was our first time trying Uyghur food and our minds were blown. Iseriously want to go back tomorrow. Thank you, Jahunger, for your amazing food (at a reasonable price too). Read more

After much cooking for the holidays, I needed a break! I found myself on Wickendon St., remembered I wanted to try Jahunger, and... quickly placed an order over the phone for two orders of Jahunger?s signature hand-pulled noodles. One order I got with tofu andthe other with chicken. It was super easy to order and we were told to stop by for pick up in 25 minutes. We happened to makeit over there in more like 10-15 minutes and the food was ready and waiting for us! The waitress working was so warm andwelcoming and was happy to ring us out as soon as we walked in! She offered any and all utensils we needed to. We were hungrierthan anticipated, and there are two red tables outside that you can sit at if you?re not afraid to brave the December cold!???? The noodles themselves were piping hot, perfectly chewy, and bursting with flavor. There?s onions, chives, and chilis, togo along with the noodles and your protein of choice. There isn?t anything else like this in New England. The tofu was searedbeautifully and I already can?t wait to go back for more. Between the food and the excellent service do NOT skip out onJahunger!! Read more

Came here as a result of the RI FOOD FIGHTS ?Veg Out? event. It was my favorite stop. Hand pulled noodles are tender with the... perfect bite. Their classic Jahunger noodles are perfect, and the Meefan has a pleasant spiciness that builds with everybite. Unique drink options, like Sweet Milk, also play into the charm of this place. Really authentic Uyghur restaurant! Their lamb kebabs are sooo flavorful and the meat is really tender. I love their meefen and... mixed noodles too - all done in the traditional Xinjiang way. Their homemade yogurt is also very tasty. I?ve been to therestaurant many times and always happy with the food and the service. Highly recommend!! Read more
