On someone's Instagram account, I saw this location. Beautiful pink decorations were used inside. I believed that this location... would be ideal for my friend's birthday meal. We selected the fried egg plants with cooked vegetables, the clam past, and thebeef ball with ravioli from the lunch menu. Soups and sweets were included with each lunch set. The clam pasta was outstanding,the meatballs were the finest I've ever had, and the flavor is not overpowering. The waiter was polite and helpful. The Italianrestaurant was the best I'd tried lately. I had a wonderful dinner at The Old Canteen last weekend. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived so we sat at the bar first and... ordered drinks. Bar was cozy with a lot of people, so we had to wait a few minutes for barstools to be come available. Drinkswere excellent and ample. Our food was lovingly prepared and excellent, and the servings were surprisingly large. Broccoli rabewas perfection. I definitely recommend the restaurant, however be prepared for a long leisurely meal and a fairly pricey mealtab if you include appetizers in your order. Valet parking available and recommended. Wonderful simple old world Italian dining. Service was top notch, everyone was very friendly and wasn't just helpful, they make... you feel at home. The atmosphere was very relaxing and classy. The food was superb, made exactly the way you want it. They aremore than happy to do special requests. It's no wonder there were 3 birthday celebrations tonight (that I know of). Friendly staff, cute cozy place. The menu is extensive. I am 100% Italian, first generation in America. I visit Italy as I have... family there, my first language learned was Italian. My parents speak Italian at home...just to give you an idea of my italianauthenticity. The selection on the menu here is authentic Italian dishes such as smelts, melon with prosciutto, tripe, froglegs, pasta with garlic and oil, osso buco....again an EXTENSIVE menu of AUTHENTIC Italian dishes. Founded in 1956, it?s a step back in time when a leisurely meal was a staple. Everything was wonderful? from ourserver Pete, the wine and the perfectly prepared entrees.
