Wife is from Cali and put me on to birria a couple years ago. This place made the other birria tacos look like a mistake. So... much flavor in the beef with that charred tortilla/cheese "crunchies" nevermind the flavor bomb within the consommé. Deep richflavor with great acidity. I?ve been dying to try Masa Taqueria for a while now - finally did, by means of take out. If a first experience via take out was... this good, Masa deserves all the praise they can get! I order their queso, birria re-up, and birria empanadas special. SO DAMNGOOD! At first I was afraid that my gf was gonna be mad that I went here without here, but then I was glad I didn?t bring herwith me - I was able to eat it all, myself. Are the prices higher than you?d expect? Sure. But, anyone who isn?t wickedignorant would recognize how hard it is to own & operate a restaurant during a terrible time for the economy. Unique place, I did not know it was inside of a bar and at first could not find the place. Service is good, if you find the... right people (the bar staff does not help, just tell you to stick your head in the kitchen and call). The food, however, isdelicious. Best birria fries, the birria tacos and consome were very flavorful, I am not too crazy about corn tortillas, but itworks here. The only thing is that the menu changes often and there were several things that I was looking forward to eatingthat were not available that day - the empanadas and burger for example.
