This is a very unique Guatemalan restaurant with amazing food,I feel a resonible price. Our waitress was very attentive and... friendly which made our first visit very inviting. Well...today I had to think twice between 3 or 4 stars since the 3.5 option is not available but let's go straight to the... review...most of the star rating is for the presentation and size portions, the restaurant food presentation is awesome and alot of food but the taste is not that original...the seasoning of the steak, chicken breast or shrimp...tasted just the same the"traditional Guatemalan black beans flavor was not there, just as another example or the flavor of traditional Guatemalandishes like Pepian was not close to the real deal, the flavored alcoholic drinks "lacked" flavors like Mango, Orange or otheroffered flavors, it was more tequila and a well craft presentation. Over all costumer service was not the best, the restaurantwas half way full and the waiting staff was already overwhelmed to the point of making the costumer feel pressured to order orto leave. The restaurant Guatemalan authenticity is in every corner of the restaurant...in general I think the management hasthe right vision they just have to work a bit harder when it comes to authenticity of flavor/seasoning for the real Guatemalanfood. The food is good not great, I?ll been there a few times and twice i ask for something on the menu and they bring me something... else. The service is not that good either they take their time to serve you. I didn?t had a good time. They guys enjoyed theylike the food my experience has been different. Read more

First time coming here, was unable to make a reservation ahead of time, waited for 1 1/2 hours for two tables, heard so many... great things about Mi Guatemala. Staff was very nice and friendly, clean restaurant, bathrooms were very small. The food lookedgood but i was not impressed on the rice and beans, my churrasco-steak was really good as well as the side of soup and saladthat it came with. The horchata drink was good. The tortillas were also good- handmade. Atmosphere was good, very decorative,family friendly. Kids liked their food, had a mini churrasco and of course chicken nuggets/ fingers options were on the menu.The paisano with steak plate looked and was very good as well as the Pollo guisado. It's a large menu full of options. I will goagain, will try it one more time, hopefully not around 7pm on a Saturday night. In my opinion time management could be workedon, it took too long to get check, boxes to go but once again it could be due to short staffed. Limited parking spaces. Read more
I love this restaurant!! I?m not just saying it because im Guatemalan, I literally travel almost 2 hrs for the food & I noticed... other people travel from far too because the food & hospitality is that amazing! Took my parents for their birthdays & it feltlike home to them. Definitely a 5 star & they need to open one in Connecticut pleaseeee!!!!!!! Read more
1st time visiting a couple weeks ago. On-Street parking and side streets. We were seated fairly quickly when we arrived. Food... and drinks were ordered and took a very long time before everything arrived. The food order was incorrect and had to wait evenlonger. The food was delicious but the service could have been better. Read more
