My wife and I were searching for a place for sushi and came across Somo. We are glad that we did! Somo is newly renovated with... a modern vibe. Open concept with a nice bar. The drink menu has a nice variety of cocktails. The food menu offers a goodselection of choices. We enjoyed the pork dumplings, the Somo sushi plate (yellowtail, white tuna, and salmon), an Unagi roll,and shrimp tempura roll. The food was super fresh and it was nicely presented. Great, friendly service! Drinks were delicious, the sake selection was small but obviously curated and delicious. We arrived as... a group of 5 and ordered 10 different rolls all together. Nobody was disappointed, they were all delicious and made toperfection. The appetizers were perfect, we ordered the truffle fries and oysters. Cannot recommend this place enough! Read more
How is this place rated at 4 stars plus? Maybe people have low standards in this city? The atmosphere and vibe are a huge... question mark. The service is poor slow and unfriendly. Our waitress left the restaurant mid meal for 20 mins. I had to orderketchup from the sushi chef lol. The food was tasteless and bland kinda like gas station sushi. All rice no flavor. And afterall of that the bill comes and it's not cheap. Bottom line: you don't get what you pay for ! Better spend your money elsewhere. Read more
This is a delightfully dramatic sushi spot. Each dish is visually stunning and equally tasty. It is on the more expensive side... (as the ingredients are fresh & high quality). Would recommend for a special night out. There is plenty of indoor and outdoorseating and parking nearby. Read more
A present and engaged owner is key ! Food and drink quality is outstanding with innovative flavors and options in both. Generous... portions and lovely presentation! Apple whiskey with cider was on special - just delicious! The bar is well stocked and includedJapanese whiskey- another of my favorites. Simply phenomenal. From the atmosphere to the food to the people, a terrific experience. The noodles had a terrific flavor, the... drinks were great and innovative and the sushi the freshest I have ever had. The owner comes around to introduce himself and askcustomers how their meal is. The best sushi I have ever had. Not only that but great staff! The calamari is to die for as well as the chocolate flourless... cake -which apparently is made in house with 80% dark chocolate. Ladies when I tell you by the cake will fix you after abreakup I am not lying!!! The atmosphere is amazing and the owner even gave me a free shot since it was a special occasion forme!
