We stopped by from a recommendation from a friend. We ordered tacos, quesadillas and a burrito. Everything was ok! I got the... carnitas taco - the pork was good but the sauce and toppings were so spicy and I couldn?t really taste anything else except forthe spice. Ahhh Mexican food - that filling hearty cuisine that rarely miss its gustatory marks. Was just looking for a well-reviewed... Mexican place to get our taco-rice-and-beans-nacho fix while in Providence for the day and Tallulah?s came up on top. But ofcourse we gotta try it, and we weren?t disappointed at all. Hearty portions, reasonably priced, too. It wasnt hopping or madbusy in the middle of the day, but people were in and out pretty steadily - takeout or dine in. Speaking of which, there areonly outdoor dining. Seating is on either side of the building that houses the kitchen-cum-pickup area-register. Open space withcommunal tables. Not really sure what the setup is during high summer or dead of winter????, but if i go by the people who ateand took orders out in the whole hour we had our meal, i would say there must be some coverage of this outdoor seatingarrangement - reason i knocked a star off????. I was skeptical at first, New York City prices for College Town Food in Rhode Island??? However, the Al Pastor Burrito was... wrapped perfectly with a bit of kick and gauc,. Perfect street fare taco shack. Don?t skip the carne asada with creme. The seasoned chips are a great fit for the salsa verde.
Tallulah's Taqueria is an excellent place to go for authentic Mexican food. The ingredients are fresh. The menu is simple yet... extensive. Meat and vegetarian options available. Substitutions are allowed. Pandemic update: indoor dining it's not allowed,but, fortunately for patrons and diners, there are two large outdoor patio areas, on each side of the building, which is locatedon Ives Street, which includes mixed use commercial, retail, and residential space in the affluent East Side neighborhood ofProvidence. Very nice lunch place. It has a lot of outdoor seating. It was still nice in the sun on a cold October morning. Their prices... have remained stable in the last few years, which I appreciate. I ate the torta, my friend got the tacos and it was all reallyvery good, at fast food prices. Read more
