Not bad by any means but under delivered on our expectations. Pizza was just ok. One of the beauties of a true brick oven... pizza place is that you can get that nice leoparding on the cheese and toppings just due to the nature of the brick oven method. It enables you to simultaneously get a little color on the bottom of the crust as well as the dark spots on the topside. Unfortunately they don't cook the pizzas that long here. Really a missed opportunity. The pizza crust had very no color on thebottom (i.e. dark spots) and the top had very little leoparding. For a good example of what a good brick oven pizza looks like,check out a New Haven style pizza shop like Frank Pepe's Apizza. That's how you do brick oven pizza! I personally wouldn'tsend anyone out to Purcellville specifically for this pizza. I would give the place another chance, though, but not for theirpizza. I'd go back and try their subs or strombolis. For the price the food isn't good. The pizza came out floppy and not crispy like brick oven pizza. The fried mushrooms were... good. My husband said the salad was ok. Read more
A friend recommended this place, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered two pizzas. One was a meat lovers and the other was... a cheese pizza. The restaurant makes it pretty easy to order via their website or by phone. When I called it in, the employeewas very friendly. She let me know that it would be about 25 minutes before it would be ready for pickup. I received a textletting me know it was ready. When I arrived, multiple employees greeted me. They checked my pizzas to ensure I was getting theones I had ordered. The pizzas were delicious. I was pleased with how there was not an excessive amount of grease coming fromthe pizzas. They did not skimp on toppings for the meet lovers, either. Honestly, I received two quality pizzas. I was verypleased with what we ordered. I look forward to going back and seeing what other pizzas I should try next. Read more
Pretty much nailed it! The cheese is great... The crust is nearly perfect. The prices are spot on. This is the real deal. If... you think a brick oven pizza here is overpriced...you don't know food value. I had to convince myself to stopeating....wow...this is good food! Read more
I?ve given this place multiple tries and it?s just not good. I?ve tried the pasta, pizza, sandwiches, wraps, and more and just... never have anything positive to say about the food. At best, I have neutral thoughts about whatever was ordered. Ambiance: Therestaurant has a fabulous feeling to it. It?s hard to describe the feeling, but it just feels like you been in there before. Theatmosphere and ambiance get a star for this place. Service: The service is fairly good here. The woman taking care of our tablemade sure that we got whatever we ordered or needed. Service also gets a star added to the rating. Food: Now we get to the partthat you?d hope would be the best but unfortunately was not. The food here is not memorable at all. It was just very ?meh? thistime and every time before no matter what was ordered. On this trip I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap and I didn?t taste anyBuffalo sauce. It just lacked character or flavor of any kind. The fries were also just very basic and unseasoned. We also had apizza at the table that night. But the toppings tasted very cheap and took away from the experience of eating pizza. The ham onthe pizza looked and tasted just like thinly sliced deli ham from a plastic container at the grocery store. The pasta we had wasalso underwhelming. I really wish that I could say that this place has improved with the amount of times I?ve visited but ithasn?t. The food is very forgettable and uninspired. I like the ambiance and the service. We showed up fairly late on Sunday evening with a large family group and they were outstanding!!! The food was very good and... though there was a bit of a wait (probably due to the size of the group and the time of day), the food was brought out mostlytogether and wasn't cold or felt like it was sitting under a heat lamp. Caden provided excellent service with a smile theentire time we sat and visited. The atmosphere is a small dining area with booths and tables and chairs - nothing fancy, butthey made tables available next to each other so that we could spend time together as family.
