Did not stay here, was at a wedding here which was quite nice. Food was good, bar service was really good. Nice location.

My husband and I recently was married at Gowlland and I can't imagine having done it anywhere else. Our experience was... absolutely amazing, the staff took such great care of us, and having Carmen be there to help with everything from planning thedetails, help with decor, setting up, the food, etc., was beyond anything we could have imagined. All of our guests raved abouttheir stay and the food - I can't recommend this venue enough! Read more

We stayed in the Arbutus House. Lovely views with a big deck. Unfortunately the only seating on this deck are 6 upright chairs.... It is crying out for some loungers! The blind in the downstairs bedroom is broken, letting in lots of light in the morning. Notenough mugs. Despite these issues, we had a nice stay. Read more

Very poor service. There was no one working at this resort during our 2 night stay. No one even answered the "after hours"... number to help us. The amenities advertised aren't being offered. The sauna doesn't work, there's no hot tub and the puttinggreen doesn't contain any equipment. The restaurant is closed. Our suite was clean but many of the light fixtures were burntout. To find the suite was quite an ordeal with the instructions left outside the reception building with our key. We arrivedat night and had to rely on our phone flashlight to find the Cove house at the very end of a slippery wooden deck. We couldn'tcheck out as there were no staff on a Monday at 11 am. Beautiful spot but go stay with some locals that care about their guests. Read more

Worst customer service, the manager is very rude and her mood changes very quickly. I had booked online and gotten an email... saying it was pending confirmation from the resort. Well our trip dates come, still haven't received confirmation, so we show upjust incase, and we were a late check in due to my work schedule. No one would answer the phone , there were no late check ininstructions anywhere so we actually ended up having to take the ferry back to Campbell River that night to find somewhere elseto stay. The next day the manager called and we arranged for our stay that night and she was very nice and explained its a newsystem and that they were working out bugs. she apologized and was willing to give us a complimentary night, which unfortunatelywe couldn't stay as we had to work Monday. A few weeks after our stay she contacted me via email saying my card wouldn't work, when I asked for confirmation that I would only be charged one night , she got snooty with me saying well we are only chargingyou for one night considering you didn't give us notice to cancel. I was floored with her attitude. very up and down, Nice to meone minute , unprofessional the next, They are very hard to get ahold of and unreliable. I've read they are new owners soperhaps they are not cut out for the hotel business. Read more

Stayed in the honeymoon suite recently. The view was spectacular and it was nice to sit and watch the cormorants fight for fish... with the seagulls. The suite was clean but I would not say that it was a gourmet kitchen with the tiny glass plates and only twonon steak knives. The price for staying there near the end of November was reasonable. While I understand it's "island life",the non functioning TV was a bit frustrating to work out due to a lack of communication with management and in the end theyblamed the cable company. There's a large private dock which I'm curious to know if guests can moor here. Watch your step as thedock needs some maintenance. I would absolutely not cook a steak or any other food on the BBQ here as the grill surface isflaking off and the BBQ does not appear to have been cleaned or serviced at all for a very long time. I opened it up, looked atthe mess inside and put the scraper away. Other than some minor issues it's peaceful and a nice getaway from life. Read more

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ACCOMMODATION! My wife and I recently spent 4 days at the resort staying in the Beach House and definitely... worth the price! The setting was superb, perched on the rock at the oceans edge. Lots of space to relax inside and a huge deckto sit on outside. The management team is extremely helpful, friendly and professional. We highly recommended this resort andQuadra Island for a weekend (or longer!) escape! Read more

The views are as described and quite stunning. Check-in was easy and the staff was nice. Unfortunately, the luxury described was... severely hindered when there were loud drunken people stumbling around. Also, I would inquire first if there was an event, asone of the nights we were there there was a 20th high school reunion party that was incredibly loud. We were in the honeymoonsuite and people stumbled up onto our private balcony at one point in the late evening. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR ACTUALHONEYMOON. The Dock is in horrible shape with dangerous holes your whole foot can easily fall through. Read more
