Stopped in while I was heading through... Having lived in Japan and eaten Japanese food all over the world, this is an amazing... western version. The assorted sashimi was fresh, very generously portioned, and quality (wild sockeye instead of farmed). Thescallop roll and negitoro roll weren't packed with rice or other filler. Excellent sushi! We loved the tempura prawns and yams and monkey brain too. No pictures of those. We ate them as our appetizers.... Serving sizes are good and the prices are fair. I'm a huge fan of sushi so I was excited to try Sushi Hama. Before I grabbed my order I went to the liquor store and got a... bottle of sake to go with my dinner. I stuck to nigiri and sashimi, with a miso soup to start things off. The fish was veryfresh and delicious. Generous portions as well. My only thought would be, when the chef is making nigiri to put the wasabi onthe inside. I also understand that's not something everyone enjoys. I'm very happy they had toro and a good selection of otherfish to choose from. I would fully support uni, oysters, or anything else that's a bit more adventurous. Great place for sushi, we drove 20 minutes from where we were staying just to order from here on our vacation. It was definitely... worth the trip. The food tasted great and the staff are super friendly. Will come back next time I visit the island. Read more
This place is the perfect place for everything. The owners are friendly and the food is very good. My children ate udon... deliciously, and my mother and I were satisfied with Sushi and Hama Box. Next time we will come to eat another menu. Read more
I've been in here many times for lunch and dinner and am impressed with the staff and the food. They go out of their way to... make sure you are taken care of like bringing me tamari when I mentioned I couldn't eat breaded shrimp anymore because of thewheat. And the food quality is almost always on par. Had lunch with my pops and my tuna sashimi and avocado cucumber veg rollwere very good. I also ordered the California roll with real crab which was okay, but the texture of the crab was a little offand very dry. It's a limitation of real crab and I know that but would have been nice to have a little something to pull it alltogether. Dad had the seafood Udon and was very happy with the flavor and portion size. Decent variety of seafood but a lot ofpollock fish ball instead of natural, unprocessed seafood. Be mindful of watching your salt intake! All in all a good place andI highly recommend it for eat in or take out. Read more
