My partner and I love sushi and couldn?t wait to try Masaru having read the reviews. It exceeded our expectations. Don?t judge a... book by its cover, the restaurant itself is very understated, but the chef more than compensates with his sheer skill. Our makirolls were out of this world. We?ve eaten at Michellin starred restaurants like Heston Blumenthall?s ?Dinner? in London, andthis was up with the best of them. If you love sushi do not miss the opportunity to go here! On our first visit to Quebec City, we had lunch at Masaru Sushi a couple of days ago. Fantastic food! We are sushi lovers and... have had Sushi in Vancouver BC, Toronto, Seoul , Tokyo, various cities in the US and in South America and Masaru's was just asgood! Secret to great food is quality ingredients. The miso soup was delicious and hearty and the wasabi was Real wasabi! Wewere pleasantly surprised! Read more
This is the second time I visited this place. This is not a fancy, pretentious place, but a very cozy, nice, with just two... people cooking and serving. The food is really delicious! Also I like that the cook chooses sushi for you, with all the varietyit?s always a pain for me two choose something. I?ll definitely visit Masaru Sushi again next time I?m in Québec. Merci! Read more
The best sushi I have had! They serve a hot one whuch was soooo good. The menu isn?t a regular one. We picked one that leaves it... to chef to decide what to make amd it was phenomenal! I wanted to give it 4 stars because the hist isn?t quite someone you canexpect an smile nor the place looks very nice ( but it was clean), but I felt the food was so good that it wouldn?t be fair totake a star away! I had a lunch here, small place , the chef will make the type of roll that you are going to eat according the fresh fish that... he have at the day. You can choose few entre if you would like ( miss suop and the Gyoza are really good ) The rolls are goodbut in my opinion you do not fill to much the fish because is cover from too much sauce, but the rolls taste good ... maybetoo much onion ... That was a very good choise for sushi in Old Québec. The ingredients were fresh, the wait time was not long. The employee... working was super polite and nice. And the most important that the sushi were delicious. This is the best sushi place in Québeccity. Highly recommended! Read more
It is probably strange to get sushi in QC city, but they are technically closer to the ocean than Toronto. Though they sourced... their fish from Montreal. It's a nice spot, fish was fresh, for the price point the portions are nice for sashimi. We got somescallops, and they were ocean scallops or they seemed to be. As they were large and round. The rolls were chef's special andthey were quite tasty. I am still not a huge fan of cream cheese in rolls, but for what you get it was good. I think portionwise it is good, and it may hit a sushi craving while you're in the city. Read more
