Maxi is exactly what is needed! A small charming spot that specializes in doing one thing very well. It’s important to... preserve and support HK and Cantonese culture. A world without HK/Cantonese food will be sad. The wontons are shrimp and pork .Maxi does not skimp on the shrimp at all! Most places skimp because shrimp is more costly. Some of the best wontons I ever had.Pro move is to add a little vinegar and chilli sauce to the wontons. The broth is perfect and I confirmed with Maxi she doestake the time to use shrimp peels to bring out that seafood/umami flavor. No shortcuts here. I am pretty familiar with theChinese food scenes in SF and San Gabriel Valley (LA). Maxi’s is the best I ever had. The one contender would be the now goneNoodle Boy in Rosemead (SGV). This is one of my favorite places. Very homey and very Hong Kong. Read more

Very good egg noodle spot. The best toppings were the wontons and the beef stew. The beef stew was very tender. The wontons had... shrimp and were very good. I wouldn't recommend the jajang here. The toppings were not very abundant and quite pricey. The sharkfin soup and the fish skins were okay. The space inside is very small but they have a bit more outside seating. Read more

Possibly the best wonton spot you can eat at in Flushing, maybe even all of NYC. Wontons are fat and stuffed with a whole lot of... goodness, soup is clean and flavorful, and the noods are thin with great texture. All the different toppings are good, but mypersonal favs are the wontons (obviously) and the beef stew. The quality of the food and the price warrant 5 stars, but Idropped one off because the service is very hit or miss--the staff go between courteous and impertinent like flipping a lightswitch. Food was delicious! Wontons were very large and bursting with shrimp, sad to only have two of them. The dace fish balls were... also very large and had a nice chewy texture, much better than store bought fish paste. Soup was ok, nothing special. I wantedto try their beef stew but it costs extra. beef stew and tendon with thin egg noodle in soup. The soup was so tasty, beef stew was chopstick-tendor, tendon was soft. I... like the egg noodle texture. It was done right and perfect to me. I used to had the big shrimp wonton almost every visitbefore. So glad I tried the beef stew today. I like fish paste, and the way they made was down-to-earth authentic. Read more

Quick and tasty lunch! Stopped by to get the two toppings noodle soup (wontons, beef stew, on thin egg noodles) and a side of... veggies with oyster sauce for good measure. The wontons were huuuuuuuuge and plump, full of shrimp-y goodness. The beef stewwas oh-so-tender. The noodle had a nice chew and the broth was really tasty too. I tried a little bit of the chili oil and ithad a kick lol, proceed with caution. Overall, a good neighborhood spot and will return for sure. Read more
