I normally pride myself on being an easy going patron but when I first came into Shanghai Zhen Gong Fu, I was pretty moody.... (Intense PMS + 3 small kids). Between hormones and yelling children, I was hot and cranky and really not at my best. Bill (ourwaiter) quickly seated us and offered to sit us directly under the air conditioner and even got a second fan to point at us. Itwas heaven. I apologized for my mood and thanked him but he told me there was no need to apologize and he was SO happy, funnyand kind..and most of all, accommodating! :-) We ordered about 6 different things but ate them so fast I only had a chance toget a picture of a few. The food typically would take longer to come out but we had it at our table within a few minutes. Itwas awesome. The duck was SO crisp and the meat was all the way good through and my husband and I agreed that this restaurantserves the best Lo Mein and General Tso's chicken we've ever had in our 35+ years of life :-) It was a wonderful experience andamazing food. Our little kids loved everything as well which was a big win. The restrooms were also clean ;-) I always lovethat. It is a good reflection on the restaurant. Amazingly good! Every dish is freshly made. The Sesame chicken amazing. Large portions of food. You are greeted as soon as you... come in. The staff and manager are courteous and friendly. Excellent service. You must try it for yourself. Everyone looks sohappy while eating. You are going love it here. One of the best restaurants in the city. Read more
Great food for a great price! We usually order take out but wanted to try eating in person for once and it did not disappoint.... Ordered the crab and pork soup dumplings which were soo good. I also liked their lo mein, beef and broccoli, and the bok choywith mushrooms. Read more
If you are reading this please go eat here! I didn't expect it to be as great as it was and I'm so sorry for underestimating... this amazing restaurant. As I walked in I was greeted nicely and seated immediately, she even pulled out my chair for me ( Iwas eating alone). Then the waitress came over a couple minutes later to take my order. While taking my order she recognized itwas my first time and then she recommended the soup dumplings ( first thing under appetizers, thank God she recommended this!)and I got the sesame chicken as well. I love this place! I'm picky with my Chinese because I like it done right and these wonderful folks here made my night! ... The soup dumplings are very good and their homemade iced tea was a nice surprise, really had a good taste to it. Had a shrimp... and broccoli dish my last time here which had a sauce that really made it stand out in a positive way. Very friendly andattentive service too. Read more
