Cold weather always makes me crave ramen and Tamashii did not disappoint! I got the Tamashii ramen which hit the spot and was so... light and the perfect balance of flavor and richness. We also got the fried chicken, gyoza, and takoyaki for appetizers and theywere all soooo good! Great for sharing if you?re eating with friends. With the ramen we decided to get a curry rice to share andI think the curry was one of my favorite parts of the meal besides the ramen. The server Grace was so nice and the whole staffwas so attentive whenever I needed more tea or water and multiple staff checked on us in case we needed anything. We were seatedright away and I love the cozy ambiance of the forest hills location. We got the mochi ice cream to end on a sweet note and itwas delicious! Already looking forward to another bowl! ???? Read more

Nice little spot right on Austin Street. It was very busy when we came. We need a table for 3, we eneded up waiting around 20... minutes to half hour. The staff were quick and on top of things though. As soon as people left they tried their best to cleanand flip the table for the next people to sit. I ordered the Kani Salad, Dumplings, and 3 bowls of Ramen(vegetable, Seafod, andMiso Ramen) for my wife, son, and I. The food tasted good. The flavors were definitely there. I did order mine spicy but thelady forgot to modify it. But i asked for some hot chili paste and mixed it in so it worked out. I have had better so I wasn'tamazed with it though. But I would still recommend going. Read more

Great little local Japanese eatery for your fix of rice bowls and ramen. Everything is prepared fresh, rice hot, ramen firm,... broth flavorful and overall very clean. Did I mention pricing for Forest Hills is very reasonable. Restaurant is very cozy andclean. Two points holding back from a 5?? is I felt from time sitting down everything felt rushed even though it?s Mondayafternoon 5pm and establishment was more than 2/3 empty. We were handed menus and no more than 10 seconds later asked if we?reready to order and all through the meal their servers repeatedly came and asked if we?re finished, even though clearly we?restill eating. Mind you this is no more than 15 minutes from time we were served entrees. Why put pressure on your patrons whennot busy I?ll never understand. The other negativity is charging additional 8% for credit card. YES you heard right?.8% asopposed to standard 3-4% these day, basically forcing your customers to pay cash. Overall good food and remember to bring cashto avoid being hit with exorbitant credit card fee. Read more

My first time trying this ! Definitely filled me up. Great customer service. The soup is smoking hot once you receive it on the... table. We went around 8pm and there was no wait at all. Everyone was dressed casual. Street parking (good luck) Read more

Tamashii Ramen - $12.95 Broth - 1/5. It smell and taste like a chicken soup my mom would make (which not a huge fan BTW). While... I know I ordered a ?shio? soup base ramen, the experience was a turn off. Cha shu - 2/5. While the pork is charred the way Ilike it, it lacks flavor and is bland. The ratio of lean meat to fat is about 70 to 30. Noodles - 3/5. yellow egg thin noodles.Has a nice bounce and chew to it but it doesn?t absorb the broth too much, which is it?s saving grace. Side notes: Egg texturewas great but could?ve been marinated longer. The marinate was very weak. Karaage - $7.75. 7 pieces. Two different dippingsauces. Dry AF. Taste like a popcorn you get from the frozen section at a super market. Avoid at all cost. I make it better.???? Pork buns - $7.95. 2 pieces. Nice smoky flavor. Wish it had a bit more fat on the meat. There was a thin layer of saucebut it was very overly sweet. Ebi potato - $6.25. 4 pieces. Small size shrimp wrapped with thick deep fried potato. The twodipping sauces were spicy mayo and bbq A1-ish sauce. Not sure what the hype is with the shrimp. Total - $38.00 Read more

Great store. I are here and DoorDash?d a few times, and all my experiences were great. I have no complaints about the service,... everyone was nice. The store is in a good location - close to the train. Parking can be a little annoying, but with it,definitely. Read more
