I’ve been to Il Mulino, Carbone and other ‘fancy’ Italian restaurants in Manhattan. But Trattoria L’incontro in Astoria... is by far hands down THE BEST among them. Everything was really clicking. A wait of 10 minutes was not a problem even though we had late reservations. We were not rushed... at all and the food was delivered to our table without delay. Very professional staff. The Short Rib with polenta wasunbelievable. My table mates were also very happy with their dishes. This is a must-go if you are able to get here. Read more

Overall: If you are looking for a more modern twist on Italian food this is NOT the place for it. Here you will find traditional... flavors, simple and straight to the point. Service: Amazing. Staff is attentive and checking on you. Very knowledgeable of whatthey are serving. Floor manager walking around making sure everyone is properly being managed. Great service nocomplaints Food: Traditional and straight to the point. I was going in expecting modernized flavors but that wasn't the pointof the place. Family style flavors. If you catch my drift. Price: Pretty standard nothing to complain about. Verdict: I wouldgo again but I'm more of a person that loves modernized flavors but nothing wrong with going back to the fundamentals ofcooking.
