Based on the location I did not think this was going to be much to write about but boy was I wrong. The decor inside is lively... and seems like a great spot to get dinner (I got lunch). The food was extremely fresh and was delicious. I would definitely gothere again and would be tempted to go out of my way to get there if need be. Read more

Located near the corner of Union Turnpike and Parsons Blvd. in Fresh Meadows, Zen Fusion is the perfect lunch spot for the... nearby Saint John's University crowd. There is something for every taste. The sushi is terrific, including their original"salmon pizza", which is much more interesting than standard salmon sushi or sashimi. If you like tempura sushi dishes, this isyour place. The shrimp tempura is particularly good and leaves you wanting more. And why not? The lunch prices are veryreasonable, and the environment is modern, and comfortable. If your date is not a fan of sushi, fear not. The menu is extensive, full of traditional mandarin cuisine and thai dishes. You won't be disappointed. Read more

Zen fusion the food is good and fresh my problem with this restaurant is they are EXTREMELY cheap with their spicy Mayo as if it... was made of gold instead Sriracha and mayonnaise ….I bought 4 rolls and I requested Spicy Mayo and of course it wasn’t inthe bag…Zen fusion please stop this petty behavior before you have no customers left. I ordered the Sushi for 2, Dancing Eel Roll, Out of Control Roll and the Chicken Satay skewers for a last-minute Valentines... surprise dinner for my wife. While the order was ready for pick up within 20 minutes (whereas other Sushi restaurants nearbywere super busy and couldn’t fulfill any orders within a 2 hour window,) this would be the only positive aspect of the ZENexperience. The most disappointing part aside from the dry, rubbery chicken skewers, was the Sushi for 2 platter. Thepresentation was typical and offered nothing special and that’s ok, but the sushi needs to convey that they know whatthey’re doing. In NYC, you have your authentic Japanese sushi chefs and then you have your non-Japanese employees whose job isto put fish on top of rice and call it sushi. Zen is of the latter variety. The RICE WAS AT LEAST A DAY OLD. As Asians, bitingdown into hard rice is an absolutely horrible experience. Zen served us crunchy rice rolled underneath pieces of fish and triedto pass it off as “Sushi.” While the other two rolls were probably made to order and tasted alright, the sushi platter wasprobably pre-made since the order was ready within 20 minutes. That is NOT ACCEPTABLE. I would never go back here again and willmake sure to warn others not to go either. It was really a terrible experience overall but we stayed positive and enjoyeddessert to salvage the dinner. Read more

My first impression of this restaurant was quite favorable. I liked the way it was laid out and decorated. I thought the... Japanese wall paper was very cool, the bamboo stalks in the middle of the restaurant was a nice touch, and I especially likedthe booths with the comfy pillows. As soon as we sat down, we asked if we could order from the lunch specials listed on themenu. We weren’t sure if this was available on weekends and we were so happy when the waiter said yes. Unfortunately, thewaiter came back and told us that she made a mistake and it wasn't available. Okay, fine. Everyone makes mistakes and thewaiter was very apologetic. We ended up ordering the kani salad, shumai, eel avocado roll, salmon avocado roll, Thai springroll, Zen House fried rice and chicken pad Thai. The pad Thai was good. It had a nice spicy kick to it. Both the eel avocadoand salmon avocado roll tasted fresh. The kani salad was smaller than I was expecting but it tasted good. I liked the crunchytopping on it. The Thai spring roll was a bit of a disappointment. It looked like the ones you can get at your local Chinesejoint, albeit not as oily and with bigger shrimps. Overall, I thought the food was solid. It didn’t completely bowl me overbut it was good. I thought the service could have been better. The staff were all very friendly and attentive but clearly notall of them were trained. We were given the wrong info about the lunch specials, the ingredients in the Zen House fried riceand the Yelp offer for free ice cream. If you check-in on your Yelp app, you get a free scoop of ice cream. My friend and Iasked if we could both redeem this offer and get a scoop of ice cream each. The waiter said yes and had us redeem the offer onour phones in front of her. She came back a few minutes later and apologized saying she made a mistake. Okay, again it’s nota big deal but I thought it was kind of petty of them not to honor it and give us both the ice cream. Such a Read more
