Intried steak and shake in 2 different cities in illinois on a visit. It is a shame how far this restaurant has fallen. No table... service, the burgers were soggy, the shakes undrinkable. The atmosphere was like that in a soup kitchen. Inused to love thisrestaurant but never go back now. Read more
First time eating here in a couple years. Food is still fantastic. Unfortunately, a Big downside for me is they have replaced... the old style of dining they used to have, with kiosks instead that you now have to order at when you go in(No Waitresses). Yourorder number is called and you have to go pick your food up. It is a sign of the times yes(Not a Good One though)! I personallythink it really takes away from the classic soda fountain style diner that they were known for and that I Loved. Read more
Short handed interior dining is allowed but ordering is done by electronic kiosk. Food and drinks came out fast and hot.
I drove by here not that long ago for some food. Food was ready as soon as I had turned into the window to pay for it. Not only... was it hot and ready so fast but it was correct too. Not a mistake to be found. Delicious food and even better shakes. Read more
Food is generally pretty good. Always hot and fresh cause the make it to order which sometimes results in a bit of a wait.
Steak n shake is probably my second favorite burger place. I'm particularly fond of the Garlic butter burger. Served with a side... of onion rings with ranch to dip them in. Ice cold sweet tea to wash it all down. Delicious! All the staff I've had the pleasureof interaction with have been polite and friendly. Cheaper then other burger joint choices. Self service options available.Mobile ordering with delivery available through ordering apps like Doordash. Service is usually quick. The above ispraises. However, I do have some complaints. On more then one occasion when visiting this establishment the tables had not beenwiped down. The bathroom has been dirty and very unclean smelling. The floor has also been dirty and unkept looking. That beingsaid I do realize that staffing shortages are still causing many establishments to have issues providing services but I alsoknow such lacks in cleanliness will also cause problems in providing services. We stopped for some quick road food (to go), but the service was pretty slow. We were waiting about 20 minutes, and at one... point, it seemed that they had forgotten about us. Still, the food was good, and they gave us some extra fries as consolationfor the wait. Read more
I only write reviews if a place that is making $15 an hour can't make an order correctly. I went after work ordered 2 things,... the first thing was a regular sandwich with no mustard or onion, I got both of those. And on my sandwich I got the garlicburger.... COVERED in butter or grease, not safe to eat. Fries dead cold like they've been sitting out for hours..... no linejust employees not wanting to work I hope they get actual employees soon.sad to see places like that get ran into the ground Read more
