Pizza, pasta, or subs, the food is always good. Service is wonderful. Atmosphere only got 4 stars because it is typical, dimly... lit, but clean. First time eating here and I have to say it was absolutely delicious. I got a soup (big enough to share) and shared it with my... spouse. I got a pasta that was amazing. Well cooked, flavorful, and amazing atmosphere. I'd price things $16-20 perentree. Very patient with a large late table of 11 mostly non-native English-speaking university students that I brought in 25 minutes... before closing. The waitress even explained again (after I did) to one guy that large tables are charged a gratuity, so hedidn't need to add another tip. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. I like my pizza a bit thinner and I?m not a fan of the type of sausage used there but it... was pretty good if you like thicker pizza. Started okay went downhill from there. The bread needed salt, then half the mozzarella sticks were frozen. Gnocchi was not... cooked all the way through and although the meat sauce was good the spaghetti sauce was watery and very tomato based. Ahhhhmazinggg!! Sals has been a radford landmark for decades now and it has never failed to let me down. Every employee is... always so nice and the service is usually very fast. This particular day we decided to order takeout and the food was ready forus to get on time and piping hot when we got it to the house. The steak sub is delicious and the Greco was cooked with a goodportion of chicken. My experience at Sals has always been a good one. Highly recommended if you're new to Radford. Read more
