Honestly the reviews made me expect so much more :(. The chicken indeed does have a unique taste, I never thought I?d say... chicken could be too moist but it felt like I was eating the most oily chicken ever. The roll was good but I?m assuming storebought. The wings were not crispy at all unfortunately, however the customer service was great, giving it an extra half star ifI could even add that. The Mac n cheese looked like my baby cousin Sophia could make it better. I would say my favorite part wasthe corn, but it?s kinda hard to mess that up. Hidden gem, I vote its best fried chicken around. To me much better than KFC, Popeyes who use way too much batter. I drive 30... min one way for it, and my kids call it "Rahway Chicken" and ask for it by name... Note, if you want to order a bucket or so,call ahead, they cook to order. However, order it to go as it's a small restaurant and it smells of cooking oil inside. Read more
Having been a regular customer to multiple locations throughout my entire life, i can say that this location produces better... chicken. There is one catch, it's not entirely consistent, there are times where the chicken is 4 stars, but it's usually 5,could be oil temperature etc, i don't really know. It stays piping hot and remains crisp even after going for a ride in thecar. The ribs are more than adequate, and have the milder southern style BBQ sauce with no vinegar odor. Potato wedges andcrinkle cut fries are also very good.The staff are attentive and friendly as long as you're not a Yelp reviewer that expects theimpossible of them. I've been craving fried chicken for the longest but didn't want to go to the usual places...Popeyes or KFC. I looked up for the... nears chicken shack and Chicken Delight came up. I want to say that they've been at this location for quite a long time as Iremember coming here when I was a kid. The menu is extensive as they serve more than just fried chicken. Everything is cookedto order so expect to wait for your food or you could order ahead of time. The chicken was awesome. Crunchy on the outside,moist on the inside. I also ordered the corn fritters and those were tasty. Onions rings were a bit on the burnt side but Iwas ok with that. Great spot and I'm glad I went. Read more
You know what they say: "if it's not broke, don't fix it!" This is what makes chicken delight stand out from other "fried... chicken" establishments. They have kept the same recipe consistent since I was walking around in diapers, in fact, since mygrandfather was wearing diapers. They pressure cooker the chicken using a special frier which keeps it juicy, tender, andreally allows the flavor of the seasoning to penetrate deep into the meat. Ordered flounder sandwich and it came with one measly pc on a thick wedge of French Bread . Why did I assume the fish would be... fresh ? Definitely over priced. Asked for crispy fries I got soft steak fries. The chicken tasted as if it was pre cooked frozenlike the fish. I should've went to Popyes. Wasted $45.00 . Never again . That's not cooking.
