We actually had a few wonderful experiences here. We were in town for a concert and the restaurant was part of the hotel. We... tried to get a reservation, but there were none available. Upon checking in, our room wasn't ready so we went to the bar for adrink while we waited. We watched positive interactions between the bartender (whose name we forgot to get) and several patrons.Our drinks were delicious! We asked a server if they get busy around the time we wanted dinner because we didn't know if wewould have time and she kindly offered to make a reservation for us. When we had our dinner I couldn't decide between a coupleof entrees and Erin, our server, made a perfect suggestion. The restaurant is also the place for the breakfast buffet. We hadsome of the most delicious omlettes we have ever tasted. The cook prepared them with a crispy cheese outer layer. Definitely afantastic part of our trip! Went here for dinner, good atmosphere and good service. The food is 3-4 star quality though. The shrimp scampi is fresh and has... a peppery after taste. Friend got the spaghetti and meatballIs and said he’s had better. If you get chicken with a salad justexpect it to be shredded (basically canned) chicken instead of fresh grilled like everywhere else. The calamari is good but gota small portion compared to previous photos shown in previous reviews. Manager was generous and gave us some more. Price is waytoo high for what I got. Read more
We decided to stop here for an early dinner because we saw the menu outside with a gluten free pizza option that looked... delicious. We sat out on the patio with our dog and each had a beer. The patio is completely covered and had a nice breezecoming from inside the restaurant, which helped on this really hot day. I ordered an Omission beer, which is gluten reduced. Iwas happy to see that they had a few gluten free/gluten reduced options for me to choose from. The pizza we so fell in lovewith and wanted to try (Funky Pizza) was apparently not available for another 30 minutes until their dinner hour started. Soinstead we ordered the Three Cheese White pizza and added mushrooms. However, when it came out the crust looked much too fluffyto be gluten free (the first pizza picture). The server had disappeared, so I had to go back in to find her. When I asked her ifthe pizza was actually gluten free, even though it was labeled as "V" & "GF" she told me it wasn't unless I specifically asked.She was quick to get another pizza ordered for us that was actually gluten free (the second pizza pictured). But as someonewho's been in the service industry for over 20 years, if I see someone order a drink that's specifically gluten free, I alwaysinquire as to whether their meal needs to be as well. Apparently, that's not common practice here and you have to be extra clearand specify everything. A little disappointing for 2 people who've been in the industry for so long because it should just becommon sense. Either way, the pizza itself was really good and the atmosphere was nice. We'll probably go back again in thefuture. But now we know that we have to clarify everything before ordering with them. Read more
Went healthy for lunch, it was alright. I enjoyed the flavor, fish was a little overcooked. It was better option than the few... places close by for eating or trying to eat healthier. Read more
It’s a really good place and the food is fantastic. I come here for a lot of work meetings because it is semi casual but still... a good sit down nice meal (it’s like that perfect middle)! A portion of your bill automatically goes to the V Foundation forcancer research so you are doing a good dead while getting a good meal!! Read more
As a long time customer of this Jimmy Vs I wanted to give a shout out to LIndsey Norwood and her great staff. Last night I held... my 2nd Company Christmas Party at the establishment and again was treated to warm hospitality, great food, beautiful location,and great value. A shout out to the two person team assigned to our party who were great and very personable to all mystaff. The food, which the main course was a combination of Salmon, Chicken Alfredo, Aspargus, and Roast Beef was againoutstanding. The appetizers were fantastic and the Canolis and Cheesecake finished off the package perfectly. The ambience ofthe interior decorated for Christmas which ties into downtown Raleigh's Fayetteville St filled with Christmas colors anddecorations makes for a fantastic location. I have come here as a regular customer for many years for lunch when my wife workedacross the street from them and always enjoy the outdoor covered area with a view of the plaza, as well as the deeper interiorwith character when the days were too hot or too cold to sit outside. I fell in love with this location when I was the GSM forRay Price Harley-Davidson which held their Annual Christmas Parties there and were just down the road. So, when I became the GMof Capital Powersports in Wake Forest, and despite the distance being a little farther away, I had to arrange a come back withmy new team. I was not dissapointed. My staff and myself on both occasions were very pleased and impressed. So keep up the goodwork Lindsey, and we will see you again next year. My mother and I attended their Thanksgiving Buffet Special for tonight and it was unbelievably good. The wait staff were very... attentive, kind, and seemed genuinely glad to have us there. This is an updated review. Came to Jimmy's 2 years ago and loved the place. It had a very welcoming staff and amazing... food. Well, today it seems the complete opposite of my experience last time. Our waitress was rude and dismissive. She broughtthe bread and oil over to our table and spilled the plate of oil on our bag. The food quality seems similar, but menu hasdefinitely shrunk (understandable due to the pandemic and such). I think this will be the last time I return to Jimmy's, sinceour table seemed to be such a burden on our waitress. Read more
