I don't think they used any marsala in the veal marsala. Should come with mashed potatoes and veggies, order it with pasta, and... there's no veggies... ? A second plate of bread is 2 dollars. Service was overworked, slow... Probably won't be back. Read more

This is my second experience at Nina's and I don't understand the hype of this place beside the obious regulars that may... frequent Nina's who mainly are of older age. I'm in my mid 40's. My wife is from Long Island and I was raised in the D.C. are sowe definitely know about great Italian food. Nina's is "just ok" at best specially for paying $30 for a frutti di mare, not muchtaste there, presentation was Ok. We ordered something basic for our 12 yr old son since he is lactose intolerant, penne pastawith shrimp on lemon garlic white wine with no parmesan. It was terribly bland, he didnt even eat the shrimp. My wife order achicken / pollo meal also no taste. The best thing was mozzarella, tomato and prosciutto appetizer which was fresh and tasty. Asyou walk in the ask you if you would likena wine list which the host / bartender asks us in front of our waitress and we said nothank you since I was to have surgery the next day. Then the waitress asks me again and gave her the same answer. It made usfeel pressured and got a feeling they did not like that. Once our meals came out, our waitress kept IGNORING my calls as if shedidnt hear me even when I asked for the check. She didnt even take our plates away. Finally, she decided to pay attention to usas she was taking "good care" of other tables she asked if our sons pasta was "not a winner" and I replied no it was not andthen she asked if we needed a box to go. We never take our food to go specially if its not good. As she proceeded to take hisplate, she asked again "not even the shrimp?" and I replied in an upset tone "No its not good!". By this time we feeldiscriminated by what I can only assume that we weren't the right age compared to the rest of the restaurant. I should mentionwe are American-Italians and know about good italian food. Finally, after TERRIBLE service and being IGNORED we received thebill to find out that she had put a 4% SURCHARGE if we didn't pay cash. I've never seen this and we go out t Read more

I usually go to a restaurant a few times before putting forth a review. This was my third time at Nina?s and all three times the... food has been exquisite and the service outstanding. Our server/waiter has been Anthony and he is as I previously statedoutstanding. The great thing here they work as a team everyone on the staff is always checking things and making sure thepatrons needs are being met. They have a very good wine list. So if you haven?t been to Nina?s I would advise you to go for somegreat food and top notch service. Read more

Had a wonderful experience at restaurant, the bartender was friendly and helpful with suggestions. Food was delicious. The only... reason for the deduction of star, I was informed when paying with credit card the restaurant is now adding 4% to your bill topay with cc. This was the first time I experienced this at a restaurant. Read more

Awesome meal. We have not been here in a while and wanted to come back and support them. They were busy and short staffed, but... it was worth it. We will be back again soon. We have now been back almost every Tuesday (1/2 bottles of wine) and Nina's hasnot disappointed yet. I would suggest to make sure you hear the specials and maybe eat outside your comfort zone and trysomething new. I have and it is always great. Update: nothing has changed still a great time. Amber and I finally were able.to connect to celebrate my birthday last night. We were both going to be in Raleigh so I searched... Google Maps for restaurants near our location. My favorite food is Italian so decided to give Nina's a whirl! To start we weretrying to set up her phone to take a pic and the bartender, Chris, noticed and came outside to take it. Chris also ended upbeing our waiter and made us feel right at home. He was amazing! We recognized they are a little short staffed and service wouldtake longer which gave us visiting/talking time. They have a herb garden where the chef (Roberto?) And Chris get fresh herbs forthe drinks and dishes We ordered the Eggplant Rolletini and Gorganzolla Salad to share. The entrees were the Diver Scallops andRavioli with Salmon. Chris brought the best Salted Carmel ice cream (Gelato?) with whipped cream and a candle for my bday. Wethoroughly enjoyed our experience and will most certainly be back! Read more
