Woody's At City Market is fantastic sports bar, conveniently located near Moore Square... Non pretentious, good prices, easy... place to meet and listen to live music, have basic, but tasty eats. Great place to meet up for First Friday's as its right inthe middle of festivities or a great "after hours" place to soak up before the drive home. A downtown bar with great lunch specials! Our server was friendly, attentive, and made wonderful menu recommendations. I love... seasoned french fries, but mine tasted pretty salty (not enough to ruin the meal). I would definitely recommend this place for aquick bite. Read more
I only gave 1 star because I had to! Realistically this place deserves zero stars. I live downtown so Woodys has always been my... go to during lunch or late night. After my visit today I?ll never return. People forget when you work for a company yourepresent the company?s mission. The manager I encountered today was overly rude, when trying to talk she let it be Known shewasn?t listening and wasn?t willing to fix our order. She wouldn?t give her name but made it clear she was the manager and noone was above her that we could talk to. DON?T WASTE YOUR MONEY! First time visiting this location and the last time. Ordered takeout and apparently someone can?t count... because the 20 wings we ordered only came with 19 weird looking wings. They were super dry as far as sauce and nothing like theCary location. I called to let the manager know and Phallyn got quiet as if to say ?so?what do you want me to do about it? afterI told her they shorted us a wing and barely put any sauce on them. She then said ?well I mean you can drive over here and I?llreplace them but I?m not giving you a refund for 1 missing wing?. I didn?t even ask for a refund but I definitely wasn?t drivingdowntown. She didn?t offer an apology or a discount the next time I came or anything else but for me to drive downtown from NWRaleigh or call back Monday to talk to her GM but said he?d probably tell me the same thing. Either she?s psychic or she knowsher GM is just as rude as she is. Some people should not be in customer service positions. We are regulars at Woody's and we will not be returning. Our service tonight was terrible and the manager is straight ghetto... trash. We were served our food with no utensils, we went to the bar and said excuse me to get the trashy A$$ managers attention.She was too worried about stuffing her face and flirting with two men at the bar that the repeated excuses me went ignored. Fiveminutes later, she proceeded to speak to us with utter disrespect. when asking for the manager, she felt super entitled andstated I am the manager. We will never come back here. The owner should really get a manager who's interested in costumerservice and not trying to pick up a date while working!!! Our waiter apologized for the managers behavior.
