Wonderful presentation and amazing taste. Loved all the sushi rolls and the great service.
If they had better staff, like the older sushi chef, this place could get a lot more business and have a lot more repeat... clients. With the talkative college age staff that they have, this place has very slow service and horrible customer service. I was told 30 minutes for a phone order and had to wait an hour for the food due to the chef talking to people at thecounter. I'm going to Poke-'Oka for my fish fix! Having been through three different owners, in the same location, I wanted to give Vibes (and the new owners a try). Our server... was fantastic! She was on it, and super sweet. Sushi was good quality, as it always has been... BUT, the wait times areridiculous, STILL. We waited an hour to get our first roll, the table next to us got there after us and was served 3 rollsbefore we got one. They stated the delay was due to all of the take out orders, but having been a patron since 2015, I can saythat it has always been slow as molasses in winter! That part has not changed one bit. Also noticed that the server (who wasalone that night) had to turn off the "OPEN" sign at 8pm, despite not actually closing until 9pm, because she knew if anyoneelse came in they wouldn't be served in time. Stopped in on a whim for a quick snack on our way down the hill. Very friendly and pleasant staff, I enjoy staff who are... conversational and engaging! The place is very clean and comfortable, and the sushi was excellent. My 10 year old is a bigsushi fan and she absolutely loved her rainbow roll. My husband got a spicy tuna roll and a salmon hand roll, he enjoyed them. Igot the Pearl lulu roll and it was very unique and delicious, I was surprised by it and I loved it! We shared the salted edamameand baby octopus. I really enjoyed the way the edamame was salted, it was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The baby octopus was asurprise as it was cooked instead of cold, we were all thrilled with that appetizer. The food we had was very delicious and minewas exceptionally beautiful in its plating. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Vibes. Miso Soup was excellent! I was a little shocked that the veggie roll was wrapped in... lettuce, but it wasn't bad. Personally, I'd prefer the lettuce on the inside. But, again not horrible. Staff was VERY friendlyand provided great service. Cons: Music was a little "off" - didn't really go with the "sushi vibe" and it was pretty dark inthere. Oh and napkins!!! Please provide either more napkins or better a quality napkin! PROS: The staff and chef were attentive and nice. The food presentation and the sushi rolls were good. CONS: The Vibe was off... for me. The music was too loud with a dark decor. The shrimp firecrackers had too much cream cheese. It was difficult to readthe menu because of the tiny size. Our receipt was odd. It listed Gaslamp BBQ as the eatery and the tip tally was calculated asif we had spent $100.00. Read more
Vibes Sushi is an Awesome Sushi Restaurant. My husband and I frequent Vibes 1-2 times a week. My favorites are the pizza roll... and yellow tail sashimi. The baby octopus appetizer Is also yummy. Staff is great too. Read more
