Food quality and customer service here were amazing. Very traditional Chinese cuisine with great flavor. I ordered shrimp... dumplings, the house chow mein (which is pan-fried noodles, a mix of proteins, topped with gravy-- a truly rare find), andlastly Peking Duck with steamed buns. I would go here again, hands down. Heads up: Cell phone service inside of the restaurantcan be a hit or miss, so be aware of it if you are meeting with a large group or on a date. Read more
I wish I could give them negative stars honestly. Their website isn't current, so when I called to place an order, half the... items weren't available, then something conveniently "sold out" while I was on the phone. Then they didn't provide the chow meinthe way I asked for it to be prepared (see photos). Then when I called, the manager refused to fix the order. Worst customerservice and SEVERELY over priced. Very good restaurant, very good executed dishes, special dishes! Friendly staff and the prices are good for the amount of food... served. Hands down one of favorite restaurant these days. The food is outstanding. So many great things to choose from. Pekingduck with bun and lobster are always a must. Read more
Craving good Chinese food in the IE, but didn't want to drive out to Rowland Heights. This place hits the spot for selection,... quality and taste. Dim sum came out fresh-delicious! The pork chops are a bit boney, but still excellent, tender and tasty! Ihad to take off a star for the sticky table, dirty seat and floor area where we sat and the difficulty in getting a serversattention. Everyone was super nice, just they were also not really attentive. Then again there was a super loud, large and funparty in the large dining room towards the back of the restaurant that probably had most of the staff occupied. This place is so yummmmm!!! My first time here and really impressed with the food. I ordered the lobster and it’s so so yummm.... The orange chicken also good. The honey walnut shrimp amazing. The shiumay exceptional!! Soo juicy and crunchy. I ordered fishalso but forgot to take a picture. It was the star of the day!!! Tasteee sooo sooo good. Five star. Read more
China Republic is a dim sum and Chinese food restaurant a little bit off the highway, but totally worth the drive. They have an... extremely large menu, the pricing is good, the portions are pretty big and the flavors are fantastic. Half a duck at $27 you'dthink would be bad duck, but it was super juicy with crispy skin. Cream cheese wonton, garlic green beans, cucumber salad,dumplings and hum bao were all really good. I'd say the only disappointment was the chow fun noodles which we wouldn't getagain, but definitely Italy would come here again in the future. Read more
We decided to go to China Republic for my father in law’s birthday for lunch. My wife and i have been here numerous times... before with our 3 children and never had a bad experience until now. There were 6 of us, 5 adults and a child. So we are notwhat you will consider a large group. When we got our check, they already added an 18% service charge!!! I asked the frontdesk and this lady was very rude and said that it is automatically added for a party of 5 or more. Then the server said it isautomatically added for a party of 6. Now, nowhere does that says that anywhere on their menu or any signs anywhere. Thisadded almost $50 on our bill and we had to flag down a staff every time, if we needed something. I could understand if it’s aparty of 8 or more as they only accept reservations for parties of 8 or more. I don’t mind giving tips but don’t surpriseme and impose how much i need to give when my group is not even large enough. I suggest management to update their policy andhave this practice of theirs clearly visible to their guest. Read more
