Finally made it to Il Sole this past Friday. Made a reservation for 6 on the outside patio. Upon arrival, the table wasn't... ready. The host moved a couple of tables together while we waited for a couple more people in our party. Another employee movedthe tables apart again. When he stated our table was ready, he started walking us in. I emphasized I called in the reservationto ensure outside seating, he claimed they were unable to accommodate 6 outside. That in itself is not the end of the world, butnot even 10 minutes later, the patio was pretty much empty. I could tell as we were walking up, one of the wine glasses was hazyand dirty; the glass was replaced with a clean one. They were out of the beer we ordered so wine it was... We all orderedwoodfired (as stated on the menu) pizza. Unfortunately it was just okay. We were looking forward to the woodfired aspect of thepizza, but did not experience it. The pies were missing the charred flavor on the edges, the crust had the dryness of a crustyoven cooked pizza. I had the same pizza I ate at the San Juan Capistrano location (where they do not use a woodfired oven) andit tasted pretty much the same. Makes me wonder how the pizza was actually cooked. Since none of us had pasta, I am unable togive feedback on other dishes. All in all, the experience was subpar and we will not return to Il Sole. Read more

Wife and I had a salad and an entree with two sodas. The bill was $55 plus tip. Service was very slow - Caesar salad was wilty,... like it sat in the warming window (plate was warm) and the Pappardelle was cold on top. Our waiter was much more interested inentertaining his friend customers at the next table than waiting on us. Had to flag down another waiter for parmesan. Got waterat the table a half hour after we sat down. Never got the check, waited for a long time and then finally went to the front topay. Food was good but service was really below what I have had here before. Lesson - if your server is entertaining hisfriends, don't expect good service! Read more

Definitely a good Italian option around the RSM area with the nice lake location. Food it's good, much better than the other... Italian options in the area, and it's not americanized. Pizzas stand out, they are very good, true Italian pizza. Read more

Small fun atmosphere (sat outside) with wonderful Italian food. Friendly service and the best pesto dip and bruschetta EVER!!

We were very happy with the food, it’s a bit overpriced but what isn’t these days. The only complaint I have is the girl at... the front seating people was very rude, she is the one that was working passed 8:00 tonight. She had a real attitude and keptwalking by the tables with attitude and no smile. Then when we were leaving she was blocking the exit and I had to say excuse usand she didn’t even say thank you or anything! We ordered out on Mothers day for dinner and this was the worst Italian food I have ever eaten. The dish I got was tasteless I... kept trying to add salt to see if that would help no luck. We paid over 150.00 dollars was not worth it will not be orderingfrom there again. I could go on about what was wrong. I think they need new Chefs. I ended up throwing my chicken away. Mydaughter ordered the steak that was like 42 dollars and it was awful. Save your money and go to the other Italian Restaurantsin RSM they are much better.
