We had originally intended to get BBQ when visiting Raton, but there was a Ronchetti rally there, so we got the heck out. We... found Los Chanquis on gMaps, and so glad we did! A sweet little place with a big menu and friendly folks. Both my BFF and Itried the tacos birria and were not disappointed. Lots of meat with a wonderful flavor, crispy flour tortilla shells, and thejuice for dipping was so good I wanted to drink it. I had a bottled Coke (always better) and the BFF had a can of Diet. Themusic was not intrusive and everything was very clean and comfortable. I felt like this would be our favorite if we were locals. Would definitely return! Read more

We walked in and I was so pleasantly surprised by the decor and atmosphere. Very warm and welcoming and spacious! The waiter was... SO nice, so helpful, friendly, etc. The food was AMAZING, simple and flavorful. I will say skip the salsa that comes with the(still warm) chips and just grap some from the condiment bar. Highly recommend the chili Verde pork and a chili relleno!Bathrooms could use some attention but we will definitely be back. What a treat for our small town to have a deliciousrestaurant! Read more

Great value! Delicious and authentic Mexican food at good prices makes this establishment an easy choice. Our food was... incredibly tasty, and it arrived quickly without errors. A full salsa bar with an assortment of freshly derived options was aperfect compliment to the meal. Finally? and perhaps most importantly? the customer service was knowledgeable, passionate, andconcerned with their trade and the customer. I?ll be back next time we go through town. Five-Stars ?????????? ALL DAY! Read more

Quaint little restaurant, very colorful, staff was friendly and knowledgeable and informative as when i got some onions in a cup... unknowing the habaneros were on it. I'm not a spice lover. Food was good, portions were good, beans needed to be moreflavorful. Not on the main drag so you have to look for it. Read more

The gentlemen serving us was so down-to-earth and friendly. I ordered a veggie burrito and it was everything I needed in a... meal. The salsa bar rocks; it not only includes salsa but carrots & cucumbers, too. Clean, remodeled environment with someoutdoor seating. Read more

The neighborhood is amazing. A block from the Amtrak station and a city park. The building is probably a hundred years ago. It's... nicely remodeled. They have a big menu. I tried the enchiladas with rice and beans. Very tasty. The folks running the placewere very service oriented. Overall a great experience. Read more
