Went yesterday for the first time to eat. Waited a hair less than 15 minutes. Started with a couple great drinks and two app... (we wanted enough for dinner as well) Rooster balls and crispy shrimp. Both were amazing. Following up were the steak tips withloaded smashed and a Cesar salad, along with a tavern burger with a side of Mac & Cheese (the only thing I didn't really carefor) (was a bit dry) Was plenty of food for lunch and dinner! We were blown away by how good this place is. We had a feast including Steak tips, tenderloin, Hog chops, Mac n cheese, rooster... balls and 2 orders of the Cajun wings. For dessert we got the bloo balls and stoned cobbler. Everything was phenomenal, I don?tthink you can go wrong ordering anything at this place. Also our server, Crystal, was awesome even though we might have been alittle difficult she had no issues answering any questions we had and helped us split the bill at the end! Nice restaurant with a large bar and a large store attached. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Great... burgers, lobster rolls, steak tips and the New England Seafood Pie was the best thing I have eaten in a while. A real clever concept. This is a restaurant attached to a butcher shop and a small gift store. The restaurant has won many... awards that are displayed in the entrance area. We went for lunch and it was pretty crowded, it is clearly a popular place. Thestaff was very friendly and the service was quick. We had burgers which were juicy with good flavor and also quite large. We hadmac and cheese and baked beans for sides and both were excellent. The mac and cheese used white cheddar which gave it a goodflavor without being too cheesy. The baked beans had a nice smoky flavor with a touch of sweet. For desert we tried the blooballs. Deep fried blueberry cheesecake with blueberry jam and blueberry ice cream. It was amazing. Read more
Portions were extremely generous. We started with the loaded poutine which was delicious. Then we all got a pasta dish which our... waitress told us was 3lbs of food! It was delicious! Highly recommend & the drinks are great. Bar staff was very friendlytoo! The wait was over an hour but we?ll worth it! We snagged a seat at the bar while we waited. Wow. Couldn't believe it when I heard we'd have to wait 1 to 2 hours to get a table. We were lucky to find some seats at the bar... and quickly found out why this place is so highly rated. The customer service was outstanding and the food was absolutelydevine. We shared the bread appetizer, porterhouse, and steak tips. To end our night, we finished with the "blue balls" dessert? fried blueberry cheesecake with blueberry ice cream and whipped cream. Can't wait to be back and highly recommend. It's worththe wait! This place was phenomenal, food, setting and staff! We always wanted to try Tuckaway Tavern and we finally had the chance while... we were in the area. The wait was to be expected but it was not long - only 20 minutes. We were seated in the far back. Wearen't sure if people typically are seated way in the back if they have children, but this room was full of children. Overall, Ienjoyed us not being at the bar, but also noticed children were no where else in the restaurant. Perhaps just a coincidence.Anyhow, our server was so kind and explained everything about Tuckaway Tavern and she was even great at making suggestions. Iabsolutely had to do the half pound lobster roll and WOW I was not disappointed. There was so much Lobster it could not even fiton the roll. My husband ordered a mac and cheese dish that came out bigger than his arm. It was impressive. He could barely eata third of it he was so full. We also did a kids macaroni and cheese meal which was also huge! We were so stuffed we did nothave any room for dessert but my goodness what a feast. Awesome time! Bar staff are super friendly and I love the way they work together as a team. They're constantly moving. Amazing... amount of food for the $ and cute names for all the dishes. Definitely a place to check out. Read more
