Franklyn?s Breakfast Burgers and Shakes feels like a hidden gem in Reading. They have recently opened for dinner hours so we... were the only ones there when we arrived around 6pm on a Friday. We were greeted by owner Franklyn?s enthusiastic personalityand charm. The rest of the staff was equally welcoming. We started with a pecan milkshake since that was the flavor readilyavailable. It lived up to the hype and was incredibly delicious. For food, I had the fried chicken with macaroni and cheese andbroccoli while my girlfriend had the shrimp po? boy. Each dish left a little to be desired but the chef asked us for feedbackand explained that he had recently been given feedback that the fried chicken was over-seasoned which baffled me. So I must havegotten an over-adjustment recipe. The po? boy tasted a bit overcooked as well. Additionally, we were given garlic bread and sidesalads to start. We declined a complimentary appetizer as the amount of food was too much to stomach. All in all it was adecent experience. If I ever return to Reading, I?d give the burger a try to accompany the world-class shake. Read more

I had a pretty good time at Franklyn?s. The food was great and the service was good. The music was perfect (the oldies but the... goodies). Even while I was eating I was dancing along I had ordered the chicken strips and waffles with eggs and turkey bacon.It was delicious and very filling. The chicken and waffles are my favorite! Always busy so you do usually wait a little but is always worth it! Everything is... always made perfectly and good size portions. Staff seems to remember everyone and the milkshakes are delicious. Read more

The food was quite delicious it took a little bit to come out but it was worth the wait the flavors were all there. Staff was... kind and attentive I felt like a little more food would have been a plus on the breakfast plate. The atmosphere was homey andcalming. Owner is definitely a good person to talk you he makes you feel like you are family and he is super funny. Coffee was alittle blah and the sugar just wouldn't sweeten but I would definitely come back and eat again. Next I will be trying lunch. DidI mention the owner was honestly great!
